Hi, my name is…..

Team building.
Building for a better future.
First and foremost, congratulations to Toonsy for his new blog. It’s looking awesome. I think we can all agree he did an excellent job on .org and gave alot of time and dedication to the site. I know him personally and know it was a hard decision for him to make, but make it he has.

A few of you may remember me as I wrote a few articles for .org inbetween the manic working pattern I find myself in at the moment. But since this is a new era and that I thought I’d start with introducing myself to those who don’t yet know me.

I’m Mark. I have supported Newcastle for as long as I can remember, and like Toonsy I’m based in The Midlands. There are North-East connections in my family though, and it’s always either been Newcastle or Sunderland. Luckily for me I opted to stay away from the darkside and chose Newcastle. The club is my life and most things come second to Newcastle.

I get to a lot of games still, as many as I can in fact, and I attend a lot of my games with Toonsy. I have also had the rather dubious pleasure of meeting Jay Jay at a couple of away games

I will be writing articles from time to time. I’m sure the aim of this blog is to deliver quality rather than quantity in terms of news and articles. Other ‘blogs tend to jump the gun and mislead. Not here! Anyway enough about me, I don’t want this to sound like lonely hearts ad. Though if you want to find your way into my heart, normally a pint of Guinness does the trick…..

Back to the reason we are all here though – NUFC. Following the vital win at The DW stadium on Sunday, we host West Ham tomorrow in another ‘six-pointer’ at St James’ Park.

The Hammers come to the North-East on the back of a big win over fellow strugglers Wolves but it’s a game that we have to believe we can take all the points from. St James’ Park isn’t quite the fortress it once was, and we have picked up some funny results at home, in games that we were probably expected to win, which is something to bear in mind before people start getting carried away.

If victorious against West Ham we will find ourselves on a very respectable 28 points, which at this stage of the season wouldn’t be bad at all. Of course the risk is there that Newcastle will take a casual approach to the game and follow up a win against a poor team by thinking that they are invincible the next fixture. I have seen it happen so much over the years, but hopefully this won’t be the case. The lads can’t afford to take the foot of the gas so to speak.

Playing a team in West Ham’s position and being at home, I can only assume we’ll have a right go and keep the 4-4-2 formation. I would like to see Ranger start the game along side Ameobi. With no fresh injury blows, would you make any changes to the team that beat Wigan? Thoughts please.

Thanks for reading. Howay the lads!

  3. I think a 2-0 win tomorrow, Ameobi (pen) and nolan will do the trick if we create as many as we did on sunday 🙂

  4. Fulham finally picking up 3 points at WBA’s expense. 3-0 now like, still got 25 mins to get more aswell, marking was awful from the set piece.

  5. Well, West Brom are now well and truly sucked into the relegation scrap. I wonder how their players will deal with it? Great technically, but have they got the stomach for a fight?

Our lads need to look at tonight’s events and see how quickly things can change. We really can’t let West Ham get anything from tomorrow.

  6. I cant see Carroll being sold if the club is to be sold. I remember what JJ said the other day about the club getting folk signed up on long term deals to make it more saleable. Well there maybe mileage in that, but why would we sign Carroll up for a long term deal, say what we have in the press and then sell just as the club may be sold? Very doubtful, and I simply dont see the point using Carroll as bait to get Bentley as he is to provide crosses for the big man!

And this craig coozy knows jack, if he did he would be a journo and not working as a bus boy in a hotel. It is funny to see people lap it up, just like that D Craig that went on a couple of years back

  7. Would you guys be happy with Bentley?

Me personally, I would rather someone with more than a decent right foot came in.

  9. If we win tomorrow i honestly think weve nailed West Ham, They would technically be 9 points behind including goal difference and i really cannot see them getting that back and toppling us.

I think if we beat them were as good as safe…

  10. Not at all mate. Might have sounded slightly harsh but I said the other day that if you’re behind the likes of Lennon in the pecking order then you cant be that special. I personally think Lennon is over rated and his only consistent trait, is his pace, something you can’t exactly lose.
One article I was reading the other day claimed Bentley was best known at Spurs for “pouring a bucket of cold water on Harry Redknapp..”, which you can’t really argue with, lol.

  11. Raffo I agree mate if we were to be sold Carroll is the prized asset so it wouldn’t make any sense what so ever.
As for Coozy i think he is grade A bullshitter mate

  12. Ice I think tiote will be one of the main men again mate
CC I think you are right about spam being down if we beat them, but I still dont think we will be completely safe

  13. Tomorrows game is absolutey huge! If we win we’re safe imo.

We’ll be 8 points if the bottom with a game in hand.

We’re due a win at home against a lower side.

  14. First post on this site.
I went to Wigan on Sunday and the first 3 toon supporters, not together, were from different parts of the country and had no connection with area.
They started following the club for varying reasons but mainly players like Shearer and Ginola.
I’m from here but similar to them it was Bobby Shintons patheticness which drew me in.
I just couldn’t believe our top scorer for the season got 7 goals.
I always new that whatever happened from that day, things could only improve.

  15. Dave

I reckon we will need 36 or 37 points and if we win tomorrow well have 28 with a far better goal difference, With a game in hand and matches at home with Wolves, Brum, West Brom and Everton and away games at Blackpool, Brum, Blackburn and Fulham i just cannot see even us fcuking that up.

    I hope… 🙁

  16. Do’s anyone think Blackpool will get sucked in the fight ?

Ice dont know why batty is low key unless he is hiding from someone 😆

  17. TBH Dave i was regretting writing that thing about staying up if we win as soon as i wrote it, It is premature but i think Wham are better than Wolves and Wigan so technically if they cannot catch us the other pair wont either.

Then stuart put the same so i ran with it 😉

Toonsy we need an edit button like we used to on Eds…

  18. I will be on tonight jay mate, though not constantly. Unless pardew is to do a KK / Cole job I can’t see Carroll going. Be stupid.

  19. fair play to Taylor, signed a contract and is sticking to his guns.

Do we need an assistant in that bad? Could we wait until the summer and get Taylor in? Would be a great addition, but one worth waiting for is the question?

  20. Toonsy – you gonna publicise the away day trip to Blackburn – should be a top day out if we get enough nufcblog.* bloggers along 🙂

  21. 4411 – I saw people talking bout bribing mates and mates of mates along. Surely if it’s a bloggers day out then it should just be that?

  22. Toonsy!! I found you! Big hug mate, congrats on the new blog. Looks great.

As for Andy Carroll leaving rumour, I’ve been very concerned since I heard he was going all the way to London for a MRI scan when I’m sure you can get one of those in Newcastle! Could the ‘thigh strain’ story just be a cover up for having a medical for Tottenham? What do you think? Cheers, Jilly Bean

  23. If we were offered Crouch, Bentley and Keane plus £5 million in exchange for Carroll, would we do a deal? I think I would be tempted to deal for those 3 players, but of course theres the addition to the wage bill that would be need to be addressed. I dont think we can hope to hold onto him if these bids get more serious as we cant offer him what these others can at the moment. I only hope that he is true to his word and stays, but money talks.

I think we would be foolish not to take this deal IMHO as we get 3 proven players for 1 young and upcoming player.

  24. Looking like a quality site toonsy, you’ve done well mate! Just finished watching the goals for the season so far, lets hope the rest of the season brings such good matches!

  25. you can only have a medical (or any interaction with another club) when you have permission from your parent club, and that is usually done after a fee is agreed and they let you go and discuss personal details, i.e. too much to happen without anyone getting word out, so I doubt the conspiracies.

  26. Is this it? Have I found it? I’ve spent all day searching for this! No one on .org would tell me where to find u lot…
