Newcastle 5-0 West Ham – Match highlight video. January 6, 2011 toonsy I’ve finally tracked down some decent highlights for all those, including myself, who didn’t get to either go the match itself or watch it live. The highlight of the game has to be Leon Best’s superb hat-trick. All three of his goals were well taken and surprised a lot of people last night. Hopefully Best can use this as a platform to prove his worth on Tyneside. Joey Barton was fantastic, as you will probably see, and the defence looked fairly solid, albeit against a poor West Ham side. All in all it was a fantastic result and was probably more than what was expected by a lot of people. The game had a feeling of a potential banana skin to it, especially considering our previous home form and tendancy to appear complacent against the so called ‘weaker’ teams in the league. There was no evidence of that last night however, and West Ham become the first club this season that Newcastle have managed to secure the double over. Enjoy the video. I saw better championship teams last season. It was like one of thoses games where it wasn’t on telly (uk telly) and they were along way from home with less than a thousand fans. It looked as though they just thought, we’ll have a day off tonight. But a half decent offer (£3 mill maybe) and i’m sure we’de accept. Sorry to be cruel, but he’s hardly the future is he I Love Mike(Quote) ILM – Any chance of letting us into the secret of where all these tricky, pacey players are who we could get instead of Bentley? Stuart79(Quote) So if Best is a decent striker and Perch did OK the other week, does that mean that every move that CH made in the market was good? Griff(Quote) Ice he loved Xmas mate he just went back to school today and was gutted that he couldn’t play his xbox 😆 Big Dave(Quote) and mine chrome — all others threads fine Stardust(Quote) GRIFF c.h. did a canny job m8 imo and should still have been given more time,as to best and perch they are back up players imo icedog(Quote) Has to be something to do with the video then? It’s the only difference surely? toonsy(Quote) Griff you might be jumping the gun a bit it was best 1st game so I think we need to see more than that. I can remember Pancrates 1st game and a craking goal but that was it. As for Perch 1 decent game in how many ? IMO Best might come good but I think Perch is a back up at best Big Dave(Quote) DAVE best/perch great minds think a-like,.you hard sod let my m8 play god bless him 🙂 icedog(Quote) Ice new thread up now with the comments back on the side. see I knew Toonsy wasnt stupid 😆 Big Dave(Quote) Aye I don’t think he worth that either. Just stating what was reported. Personally I wouldn’t give him up for 3 mil as he’s still a good squad player on our thin squad ATM. For example, did you know who Tiote was before we signed him? I’m sure 99% of people didn’t. I wasn’t being flippant towards Bentley’s talent, I think he’s a decent player and would be a fantastic, if short term, acquisition. However, what I meant with my comment was that we shouldn’t be taken for a ride when there are other options, we just need to find them. I Love Mike(Quote) DAVE i want the comments back at the bottom 🙂 icedog(Quote) consistency, in order to be considered a good player, or a good buy, we need to see good performances week in, week out. I Love Mike(Quote) dont want bentley at 7mil which is being banded about for permanant deal after loan, then again its rags *****,loan only for me icedog(Quote) I was just musing considering the change in sentiment regarding Best. I personally think that CH did very well considering the money at his disposal. Tiote is the stand out of course but I am looking forward to watching Arfa.
