February 1st can not come soon enough!

Big Andy wants to stay
As I mentioned in an earlier article, transfer windows can be a time of excitement or utter dread depending on whether your club is a buying or selling one.

For the past 15 or so days we have been linked with so many different names. Being a club that has just been promoted, we as fans understand that Newcastle have to be more realistic with their targets. The media don’t however, which is why we are getting linked with so many players. David Beckham anyone?

However the part of this window that is draining me more than anything is the chitter chatter about players who are going to leave the club. None more so than Andy Carroll. Every single day if it’s not the newspapers or internet forums it’s Twitter speculating the player is on his way this month.

Of course people have their ‘sources’ but it’s becoming tiresome. Sadly we have a man running our club who I don’t trust in the slightest. Truth being told, if we sold our prize asset I couldn’t say I’d be surprised. However until a story is concrete and has credible, accurate and true information I will continue to ignore the gossip.

In terms of Andy Carroll, he has stated many of times that he is at the right club and could happily finish his career at the club he supported as a boy. Add to that Alan Pardew stating many times that the striker simply isn’t for sale and hopefully there is a recipe for a happy ending in there somewhere.

The board have assured Pardew that Andy will be staying put. As far as I’m concerned that’s how it should stay. The droopy faced ‘id sell my gran for the right price’ Redknapp has said publicly that he expects Carroll to remain at Newcastle, but lets be honest, ‘Arry is about as honest as Joe Kinnear.

With little progress appearing to be made in the window buying wise I am sure many of us will at this point be equally happy just to get through this window keeping the likes of Andy, Joey and Jose. On a personal level I think there’s a lot of paper talk nonsense doing the rounds and I just wanted to write a piece to remind everyone to ignore the majority of rubbish you hear on Twitter or what a mate tells you in the pub or whatever.

Who knows, we could have an ace up our sleeve? Maybe we will be adding to the squad shortly? We can keep our fingers crossed. Hatem Ben Arfa has already been added on a permanent basis, and with Dan Gosling back too we have got a couple of new players to look foward to. But as it’s been established, we could do with one or two for the present.

This window is seemingly frustrating as well as nervy at times. Roll on February the 1st is what I say. HWTL

  1. nae Idea mate, just got it myself and not been on it yet but would have thought you’d be able to 😕

  2. Dave, he’s in the Toon team as far as i’m aware? Have your wee man check the reserves. For some reason I checked the starting 11 and the subs, neither Benny or Tiote were there. They are however listed in the reserves right down at the bottom of the page when you’re scrolling through the squad.
They’ll be there to play with online. If they for some reason are not available in the squad when you’re playing single player just against your mates and that, i’m canny sure there is a way to manually make transfers.

  3. ROY didnt re-new my season ticket this season, 😀

must admit i gan to odd game like,to my benefit, not his, stuff him

Really? I’d be stunned!! While Ashley does talk a bit crap, he hasn’t sold ANY players that have been worthy of keeping, never mind star players.
