Eight days to make a difference.

A new deal for Jose, please!
Newcastle are still to make a real breakthrough in this January transfer window, and time is ticking along if the squad is to be added to.

I’m not counting Hatem Ben Arfa in that as he was already our player anyway, albeit temporarily, and he is injured so can’t make a difference to us at the minute, but as I said the other day, there is need to panic and no need to rush as we don’t play again until the transfer window is slammed firmly shut.

That will hopefully give Alan Pardew the time he needs to focus on getting at least one body through the door, and hopefully it will be a player that we can utilise straight away rather than one where we have to wait for them to recover from injury until we can see the best of them.

Pardew has held a meeting with Mike Ashley to discuss the movement of players during this window, and from that he is hoping to secure the services of one of our key players (Barton or Enrique in my opinion) and get one new player through the door to add to the ranks.

“I had a good meeting with Mike this week where we discussed a lot of things. I keep stressing to him the importance of the group that we’ve got, and we are very close to securing another person, a key player, and that’s been my focus,” Pardew told nufc.co.uk.

“For the next 10 days I will focus on bringing a player in who will help us.”

Short but sweet, but it does tell us that we can expect to see one new face during this window. It also tells us that maths is not Alan Pardew’s strong suit!

Hopefully it will be on the right-wing as we are looking very light on that particular flank, especially now we have lost Wayne Routledge for the season after his loan move to QPR. Routledge may not have been a world beater and struggled to make any real impact for us in the Premier League, but at least he gave us another option, another body. Getting someone in to replace him should be a priority in my opinion.

It will be interesting to see who this key player is aswell. My money is on Joey Barton or Jose Enrique, although I think that securing Jose Enrique would be the smarter move due to his age and rising stock. I’m not saying that Barton is not a priority, but I feel that Jose should be the priority simply because without him we have no real recognised left-back.

One in and one to stay then by the looks of it.

  1. Stu must go to sleep miserable and wake in an even worse mood.

There was me thinking that over the past few years we had improved in every way. If we had weakened every window Stupot – we would be relegated again.

Maths and logic don’t seem to be your strong point – now hatred and misery you’re pretty good at! 😆

If we replace Routledge – a Bench warmer – with a starter, will we be weaker?

    Lets see him replaced first.

  4. Of course you would love that wouldn’t you Stu. As long as the team suffers you will be right, but that’s all that matter isn’t it? Not the team, you being right….

  5. I didnt think we would bring in anyone buttledge going id say with roudledge going there be a player in.

Happy with the way things are going at the club , esp with transfer policy , we are slowly but surely building a decent squad here , it doesnt happen over night it takes time. Some people need to remember where we were 18 months ago and how far we have come in a short space of time.

We are on course for a top 10 finish and if we can get a few players back from injury and another player in no reason why we cant finish top 10.

The future is bright….the future is Newcastle United 😆

I just made up that last bit , came out of nowhere , not any mobile add or anything

Explain which comment I have made that has any relevance to your last comment, toonsy?

I actually pay alot of money to watch NUFC and I want them to be successful. I have my view and I’m not on my own.

  7. Lol – showing your thickness again – worming your way out it worse than Worky not admitting to Dave he called him a racist.

Well if you cling onto the PL thing its a non statement. This window isn’t closed and your conclusion can only be tested at the end of the season when we know where we have finished.

Same old hate filled Stu – always moaning yawwwwwnnnnnnnn

I expect you try and justify you’re hatred and negativity again – even bigger yawwwnnnn

  8. Aye Stuart, your view being to **** on the club at any opportunity, even before they have done anything……

What did you expect from this window? Wholesale changes? Millions spent? Neither were going to happen…

We are in 7th, yet you are still whinging about things. We got to seventh with the squad we have as well, but carry on saying how shyte they are aye, how weak they are…..

Cannot argue with what’s written in black and white. I don’t have to wriggle out of anything.

As it happens I think we will bring someone in, why would we let Routledge go if we weren’t?

But we’ve only had one successful transfer window under Ashley and that was last January. Nobody can argue that point, although some will.

    Wrong yet again, toonsy.

I’ll **** on Ashley and i’ll carry on pissing on him! He’s done untold damage to this club. He’s taken the pride and humility out of the club and left us a laughing stock – Even more than we were before!

My argument has alwyas been with Ashley not the club, I hate the man and I don’t trust a thing he says or does.

  14. and you could also argue that the window after we got relegated was the best in the clubs history for gettin rid of the over paid ***** we had at the club 😉

  15. I actually think the last three windows have been a succes, plus the one batty says.

    Window 1 – Relegation.

Shifting the **** that didn’t want to be here whilst reatining enough to get us back up.

    Window 2 – January 10.

Acquiring the players needed to cement our return, some of which have also been important players this season like Williamson and Simpson.

    Window 3 – Summer 10.

Ben Arfa, Tiote, Gosling. Campbell hmmm lol

stu i would argue the enique and colo tranfer window was decent check tiote ben arfa

When we bought Enrique and Colo we had to sell other players to fund them transfers and there was always a chance they would need time to settle. But by letting established PL players go to find them we were weakening the squad.

We brought in HBA and Tiote but we stil had a weak window as it was clearly up front we needed strengthening, Although I don’t doubt their good players.

  19. I’m not overly keen on Ashley, but it’s unfair to deride him without realising the good he has done. Whether it was done to save his investment is irrelevant really, as it has benefitted us.

What would have have happened if he puled the plug? Or if Shepherd was still in control?

He has made some shocking calls, but so have I in my time. So has everyone if they really look at themselves.

  20. Ashley took over when we had finished 13th under Roeder, With Fat Fred in charge and a huge debt and unsustainable wage bill, At time of writing we are in 7th sitting in a european spot, With a terrific young side, A manageable wage bill and are set to break even.

We are actually better off despite the relegation and as much as i dislike Ashley it is nothing compared to the hatred i have for Shepherd…

Campbell? Did you see him against Liverpool? lol
Gosling – Is he going to be the same player he was (if was a player, as he is very young). Hope so and sure he will be but don’t use him to strengthen your argument. Because as yet his transfer is in the undecided bracket.

Thats why I put a little lol next to Campbell.

As for Gosling, I am only going off what the coaches like Pedro and what the manager is saying. They both seem to think he is a talent, and hopefuly they know what the score is more than us with him.

Stuart – So how would you strengthen up front? Who would you get?

It’s not my job to find players. But we desperately need some support for Carroll in the summer most definately.

Tino is a class act. Did you see him in the crowd yesterday shoving DVD’s into Pedro’s hands? It was either midget porn or players for him to look at 😆

  26. I think it’s becoming obvious that the Collo Williamson partnership is our best pairing.

Yeah, you can name the Bolton game when they were ****, who doesn’t have an off day? But just as easy as naming one bad game, you can point out last wek and yesteray’s performance when they’ve been outstanding.

I understand that and I’m not denying they seem a good partnership. I was just pointing it out to Stardick that two games don’t make them great. Although Colo has been brilliant.

I just think Taylor gets a rough ride. Especially from Stardick – Someone who has already made a **** of himself in his opinion of Carroll and Ashley.

      (Quote)

  28. yeah I agree Taylor gets a bit of a rought ride, but still, as football goes, Collo and Willo seem to be better suited together and play better off each other.

And to be fair, they’ve had a lot more than two games together where they’ve been fantastic.

“i would play with colo and taylor at the back dont think williamsson is that good myself”

copared to who, Boumsong? Rozehnal? Bramble? O’Brian?

Bit of perspective maybe mate, in Williamson and Collo I think we have a great pairing, better than we’ve had or years anyway.

Wasn’t that long ago we were talked about as being a joke defensivley, why aren’t we now?

      (Quote)

  33. On my phone so haven’t checked – wasn’t Tiote out for that game and they were left exposed.

Taylor gets a rough ride because he is poor. He has been poor over the long term not short term. One swallow doent make a summer and the odd mistake doesn’t make a bad defender. But repeated balls ups and self centred positioning time and time again makes him poor imo.

Poor lil hate filled Stuey -maybe a session on that melon will relax you a bit

  41. Ironic isn’t it?

Stardick spends all his time accusing me of being hate filled and slagging the club off. All i’ve heard off him over the last 12 months is him slagging Taylor and Carroll off.

Oh and sticking up for Ashley – Which in it’s self I find unbelievable, as how can you type with a mouth full of Ashley’s ****?

No offence but you’ve been proved wrong on so many occasions it’s difficult to take you seriously – Which I don’t of course.

Oh and on the Bolton game which you say Tiote didn’t play, I can’t remember whether he did or he didn’t, but if he didn’t, are you really saying that Williamson can only play well if he has a good player in front of him? Poor that. Although I must stress I rate Williamson, he’s been a success so far.

    Just concentrate on your cats.
