Game on! Birmingham v Newcastle.

Game on at Birmingham!

It really is game on this time as Newcastle get that game in hand out of the way this evening by visiting Birmingham City.

The original match was due to be played back in December, but Mother Nature and Jack Frost combined to make some sweet snowy love all over the St Andrews pitch at a most inconvenient time which left the ground staff very little time to be able to clear up the mess.

I had a seat for that game, albeit I was supposed to be sitting in one of the posh executive boxes where I could lord it over everyone, but it wasn’t to be and as soon as the game was confirmed as being a midweek fixture it kind of ruled out my attendance. Toonsy can only come out to play on the weekend usually.

Anyway, enough faffing on, there is a match about to get underway!

It’s going to be a tough game for sure, but Newcastle are adept at pulling off a result and can beat anyone on their day. Birmingham will be an awkward team to play against and they are hard to beat, but so are Blackburn and we panned them for most of the game at the weekend.

The game is not scheduled for live TV broadcast in the UK, although Sky Sports will be showing extended highlights from 10:15pm on Sky Sports 1 if you fancy watching that. If, like me, you’ll be wanting to watch the game live then I could have some good news. MyP2P seem to have a pretty long list of available streams, although, and I always stress this, there is no guarantee that any of them will work.

If one does work then fine, brilliant, please feel free to share it with the rest of us by leaving a link in the comments section below.

If you haven’t already done so, or if you just fancy having another read, you can have a ponder over match preview where you can take in some match stats, form, injury news and possible team selection by clicking here.

That’s about it really. Hopefully Newcastle can pick up another point tonight to keep us ticking over nicely, although I wouldn’t mind all three if the truth be told. The most important thing though, in my mind, is making sure that we don’t lose.

Howay the lads!

P.S. There will be a slight delay in me being able to post the team news as I have to be somewhere and won’t be back until around 7:15pm, so please bear with us until then.

Team news is as follows….

Birmingham: Ben Foster, Stephen Carr, Roger Johnson, Liam Ridgewell, Martin Jiranek, Seb Larsson, Anthony Gardner, Barry Ferguson, David Bentley, Obafemi Martins, Nikola Zigic..

  1. The lads made birm look a championship side today (hint hint) 😈
Jonas showed what he can do when he plays with control and confidence. Well in by the Argie.
And ps. Be happy with the win. It’s more important that the club does well, than who’s predictions were right. I thought we’d have a tough go of it today. I’m happily proved wrong 😉 😀

  2. Not a whole bottle of vodka, I should probably rephrase that before people think im an alkoholic. 🙂

Anyway tonight perfectly supports my theory that when you lose, you can think back to loads of nights where you won but it didn’t feel happy.

  3. What happened with Spurs aswell? I only saw about the last 15 seconds in the pub I was in but they won 1-0 and then Gattuso went and nutted Joe Jordon or whatever he’s called. Crazy. 😀
