Birmingham 0-2 Newcastle video highlights.

I’ve managed to dig out some highlights of last night’s win at Birmingham City for us all to watch over again.

It was a great win that eases the pressure on Newcastle and places them in the driving seat to secure Premier League survival, and perhaps maybe push on to a top ten finish? He who dares and all that…

Alan Pardew was understandably delighted with the result that leaves Newcastle sitting in ninth place in the table, a full eight points ahead of 18th placed Wigan. Indeed Pardew deserves a portion of credit for the result as he called his team selection, tactics and substitutions spot on, although I have no doubt that some will find a reason not to give out any credit where it is due.

“It was a really fantastic performance from us – the fans, the team, everybody,” Pardew told nufc.co.uk. “It was a resounding win. We did all of the things you need to do away from home – we had to slow the game at times, but we also had to quicken it up. And when we quickened it up we caused them problems.”

“We’ve had two clean sheets since the Arsenal game. There was Blackburn and now a great result, a fantastic result like this.”

Well played to everyone.

Probably Lovenkrands. He can’t afford anyone else 😆

Nah, but seriously, we play Everton soon and he is probably just trying to get his tactics sorted.

  3. ‘Fellaini’s father claims Chelsea are in for him’

Why would they want him he’s like a shyte Colloccini. Another club where the ownwer buys and sells the players? The whole Torres thing stinks of the Shevchenko deal.

  4. Chairman Niall Quinn has been vociferous in recent weeks over those fans who choose to watch the club’s home games via illegal broadcasts in the city’s pubs.

The figures shows that gate receipts fell from 13.88million in 2009 to 12.6million during the reporting period, although television and media payments increased by almost 4million.

  5. AOD – can’t see us qualifying for anything via the Fair Play door. Any squad with Barton, Tiote and Smith in it is going to be at the wrong end of the yellow card league 😆

7th is a possibility but quite a stretch and would need some other teams to have a poor end to the season; can’t see us getting 6th at all.

So – may have to put pride aside and support some pretty annoying teams in cup competitions then… 😯

  6. all this talk of europe is great, premature, but great. who would have thought having just been promoted we would even be contemplating pushing for a european place at this stage of the season.

im not sure if it would be the best for us though yet and could maybe have a detrimental affect on the league next year if we were to qualify, and could the squad handle it. either way im chuffed to bits to just be where we are.

and i for one am starting to eat some humble pie regarding pardew, he has impressed me massively compared to what i expected.

  7. To get the Europa spot own to 7th it’ll need Arsenal to beat Birmingham and for the two FA Cup finalists to be already qualified for Europe through the league finishes.

    Maybe, just maybe 😉

As for Fair Play 😆 😆

Last time I checked we were near the bottom of that particular league 😆

  8. We’re only 12 points of Spurs in fourth!

Well, if everyone’s talking ***** I may as well have a go too.

Not that I’m use to that like…

  9. Nice reality check, Stu 😆

Hell, we have no idea and like Rambo I’m not convinced it would actually help much. CL yes, Europa… hmm. Unless it comes with an 8-figure pay-off to bolster the squad accordingly, it’s risky stuff.

Bingo! The fact that we can even suggest European qualification is fantastic. We may not get it, we most probably won’t, but there are plenty of fans of sides in the bottom half wishing they could be contemplating Europe and not the N-Power League. Enjoy it whilst it lasts, I say. We have been spared the usual nail biting first season in the Prem and we have the hard work of the players/management to thank for that.

  11. Talking of fair play – I read something interesting relating to the infamous Leeds side of Don Revie regarding that:

Every football manager finds out everything they can about the opposition before they play them.

That way they can make sure their team knows how to take advantage of the other team’s weaknesses.

    That’s predatory thinking.

Don Revie was a football manager who went further than that.

He built up a dossier on every referee in the league.

Then he found out which one would be in charge of that weekend’s game.

Then he made each of his players study the referee’s file.

So they knew the names of his family, where he’d been on holiday, what his hobbies were.

Just little things they could drop into the conversation in the tunnel, while waiting to go onto the pitch.

The referee would think they were nicer guys than the other team, who didn’t know anything about him.

The usual statistics for refereeing decisions is roughly 50/50.

Half in your favour, half against.

But over the season Leeds got over 70% of decisions in their favour, and under 30% against.

Under Don Revie, Leeds won 3 championships, 3 cups, and 2 EUFA Cups.

    That’s real predatory thinking.

  12. @toon chicken: somehow,weird enough that’s how i play in FM11.
    some sort similar case.

i wouldn’t play my agreesive type players when a certain referee officiate.

I guess managers needs to know what kind of referee is officiating that day. 😆

  13. RE: Whumpie

I’d take a 14-0 thrashing from Man U if it meant we could beat Liverpool 1-0. I hate them so much right now. Matter of fact, probably won’t stop hating them any time soon. Which sucks cos my best bro is a Liverpool fan. He’s Nigerian. Go figure lol. The ****** knows I can’t stand that Judas went to them scousers, so he holds it over my head constantly. Even a draw would be ok as far as I’m concerned.
