The Britannia Stadium.

I sit on the train on my way to work, my leg shaking but it’s nothing to do with DT’s this time. It’s excitement, it can only mean one thing, match day approaching! Even better still, away day approaching!

I love getting up to matches at St James’ Park, but nothing beats the away day atmosphere, the passion, the noise, the feeling of being the underdog, at least in terms of numbers anyway. I am lucky enough to be one of the people with a ticket for the trip to Stoke, along with Toonsy, Marktoon, AndrewNUFC and talented young writer dan4toon, amongst others on the ‘blog I’m sure. Let me know if you stumble upon a decent pub lads.

This game is going to be tough and Stoke, as everyone knows, are never a pushover. Maybe we should try to steal Matty Etherington off them because he can actually play football! They are big, strong, very physical and battle for every ball, but what about the battle off the pitch?

I’m not going all Danny Dyer and I’m not getting ‘proppa nawtee’ here, but Stoke claim that they are the loudest supports in the country. To be fair not many home supporters are as loud as they used to be, and I have no idea why but at most games the majority of the noise is generated by the away supporters, especially when we are the away supporters, but Stoke still make one hell of a racket all the same.

I may only be a pissed up midget with a daft brummie accent, but I am loud, I am proud and I want us all to give Stoke something to remember us for. No matter what happens on the pitch, let us rock the Brittania, show them what we are made of. We are the great ones, let’s go and prove it in “the loudest supporters” back yard.

I can’t wait.

    I’m looking forward to it now, early start, bus leaves at 7. I’m expecting us to let at least one in – I can not see us coping with the long thows etc.

    I rekon we will draw 1-1 or win 2-1, Fulham and Blackpool have went there and got 3 points so we can.

    I’m thinking of getting the train at about 11. Should get to Stoke about 12:10ish. Time for a few beers in a pub somewhere then a stroll to the ground.

    Away days are far better than home games like, my last away match was Wigan which felt like a home game to be honest…Sooner them lot are in the division below the better.

    I think we will really struggle at Stoke. With both Enrique and Barton out we are very average indeed.

    They are tough to beat for sure. Need to be tactically spot on, this might be a mental statement but think Sol would be good against them. Although wouldn’t pick him over willo or collo. Stoke should be right up willo’s street. Just hope he doesn’t give away any any necessary fouls!

    Be prepared for the inevitable, after this game Tiote will have a two match ban, becasuse it will be his tenth yellow and i cant see him not getting booked. as far as for the game i can’t wait, but i think we will get a draw, it is always going to be a tough game :shock:

    I’m glad to see we’re all expecting a hard time at Stoke. I’m the same. And almost every time that’s been the case this season we’ve come home with 3 points, so let’s hope it carries on that way.

    There were a few players marked down as returning from injury tomorrow; anyone know who’s definitely out? Jonas was one who may be back…

    Hoffenheim are apparently in negotiations with Newcastle about selling midfielder Gylfi Sigurdsson according to a report on TV2 in Iceland. The move should be finalised this summer.

    After a new manager took over at Hoffenheim in january, Sigurdssons chances have been limited and new signing Firmino from Brazil has been preferred.

    CC – Sigurdsson is good but we’d have to get rid of Smith, Guthrie, loan Vuckic out and then even then he’d get thrown on the wing where I don’t think he’s that effective.
