Kinnear calls Bruce a liar and cries about some other stuff…

Joe's random rant.
Ordinarily I wouldn’t really pay much attention to what Joe Kinnear has to say. I’d probably read it and then quickly forget about it if I’m being honest.

However, Joey does have a knack of coming out with the odd hilarious statement. Does anyone remember his press conference where he ripped into Simon Bird? How about his infamous falling out with Charlie Insom,er I mean N’Zogbia? Joe is full of nuggets, or **** if you prefer to call it that, but he is good for a laugh at times.

Which is precisely what I did when I read his latest ramblings in The Journal today. Now I’ve just woken up so it’s the first time I have seen it, but it did make me chuckle. Here is what he had to say:

“I wanted to sell N’Zogbia because I didn’t get on with him, I didn’t think he was a fighter,” said Kinnear. “I got £8m for him and it was me who brought in Kevin Nolan for £4m. He was Newcastle’s player of the year last year but do I get any credit for signing him? No, because I’m a cockney.”

“The trouble was, I had to generate my own money. When the £8m was offered by Brucey I knew I had to get Nolan, then I got Løvenkrands. He was a free. With his experience I thought he would be great to come off the bench for us.”

It’s because he is a cockney 😆

No Joe it’s because you were ****, although incidentally I actually believe that he would have scraped us the points that would have kept us up that season. It wouldn’t have been ideal as it would mean that he would likely have been offered the job on a permanent basis but I still believe that we would have ground our way to survival.

I have to have a giggle at his little “I’m a cockney” lip wobble. He seems to be suggesting that us nasty nasty Geordies don’t like anyone who is cockney whilst forgetting that Chris Hughton (who was actually born in London and not in Dublin like Joe) is closer to being a cockney and is more well liked than Joe will ever be.

Kevin Nolan has been fantastic for us since we were relegated, but he was hardly our knight in shining armour whilst we were fighting for Premier League survival was he? Still, if it helps Joe along by believing his own **** then fair enough.

Incidentally, another chap who has been spouting **** according Crazy Joe is none other than Sunderland’s very own pantomime dame, Steve Bruce. Mrs. Doubtfire was keen to reveal that he almost signed Andy Carroll for Wigan but couldn’t afford to meet Newcastle’s £4.5 million valuation of the player. Kinnear replied by saying this:

“The only conversation I had with him (Bruce) was over N’Zogbia,” Kinnear insisted. “He said he phoned me on the Monday. I never had a conversation with any manager about Andy Carroll. He was a kid I’d given his debut to. Him and Shola Ameobi were going to be my strikers. Mike Ashley and Derek Llambias had no intentions of selling him at any stage.”

“When Chrissy Hughton put him in the team Andy was able to step down a level and did fantastically well. Whether he is trying to talk himself up or not, I don’t know. But to say he only offered £2.5m, it makes him look stupid.”

“For me to let Andy go to Wigan, he would have had to sell his entire team, and then you would have had to pay Andy a fortune just to go to Wigan. I think Andy had bigger options in his head even then.”

A very respectful view of Wigan then, who actually finished above us in the season where Kinnear took charge of 26 games.

Joe is a life support system for a mouth and we dodged a bullet by not landing him on a permanent basis in my opinion. Crazy Joe’s rants are quite amusing though and it’s certainly put a smile on my face purely because of the amount of incorrect **** that comes out of his gob.

It’s ok though, he’s not bitter!

  1. People might not like Pardew sharing little tidbits on the transfer front but it’s nothing compared to Kinnear! I remember in the January window he said we were getting Mbia, Gomis, Lucas Neil.

Also he said he couldn’t name names but he was targeting a Brazilian that plays for Arsenal and had scored against us in that season and plays in midfield. Good job you didn’t name names Joe 😆

Is there a more insecure man in football? Well, I guess he isn’t n football. the man is a nutcase but I tend to think he’s fairly honest so I believe him over Bruce

  4. MDS…..Bruce is defo a liar “When I was Wigan manager, he (Carroll) came on against us and scored with ten minutes to go. I rang Newcastle on the Monday morning and they quoted me £4.5m. I seriously thought about it but in the end, we could only go to £2.5m.”………..judas never scored v Wigan 😀

Yes he did! He is also responsible for making the world turn the right way and also had a hand in inventing the wheel according to Joe 😆

I also hear that the Tsunami was caused by Steve Taylor bumping head in heaven where he spends his time between being worshipped and training….

  9. I love how old Joe has to slip in the part about giving Carroll his debut.

apparently he also signed Shearer, recommended the hiring of SBR and built St. James with his bare hands.

Holloway recons if they get 2 more wins and 38 points they could survive. 😯 doubt that will be enough like.

I want them to survive actually and get the money for another season, I like Holloway, his honesty as a manager and the way he set his team up to try and play decent football.

I would rather the likes of Wigan, Wolves and Wet Spam went down tbh.

Note the wink mate, If i wanted to sit and be miserable i would go onto .org but i dont.

I was just surprised he used Hughton as an example of how we arent against cockneys instead of McDonald, Ferdinand, Lee ETC. like nufc.com did as he usually patronises “saint chris” and bums all things Pardew…

“You could be describing Pardew if it wasnt for the smile bit”

Now there are many articles that I have penned that praise Hughton, thank him for the work, state that I don’t believe anyone else could have doe it etc etc etc etc

But he’s gone now an he is just a part of history. If Newcastle are to succeed then we need Pardew to succeed which is why I’m backing the manager. It’s no different to what I do and what I have done for any other manager. The Hughton cockney example I used is because he is the most recent example of how what JFK is saying is false. Nothing more, noting less.

The sly digs are used to get people to bite 😉
