A quick site update....

by toonsy · 4 April 2011, 11:30

It's been a while since I've done one of these updates to let you all know how the site is getting on, so now seems as good a time as any to give you all a brief update if you're interested.

Last week was the busiest week this site has had since it's inception. Day by day the record for people visiting the site was beaten, to the point where every day was the busier than the last culminating on Sunday, which was the busiest day ever. It's an upward trend which is very nice to see.

In terms of Google, the site is moving up the rankings rather rapidly and is starting to generate traffic all on it's own. This is a good thing as strong search engine results mean a stronger site for all of us going forward.

With regard to comments, banter or whatever you would like to call it, on Saturday and Sunday there was a total of 1,271 comments left by you guys, or over 635 each day if you want to be precise - more than any other NUFC Blog. It's clear that this place is rapidly becoming the place for banter between NUFC fans. I'm not blowing smoke up your rings, but some of the debate has been cracking. Funny. A joy to read. Long may it continue.

The Forum, which you can access via the top menu or by clicking here, is gathering pace as well and has over 500 comments from posters. Just be warned though that if you wish to use the forum then you will need to be a registered user with the 'blog.

So, unlike Sunderland, this place looks like it is going to the next level, but it wouldn't get there without the people who have chipped in with articles. So to Marktoon, Moreno, Dan4toon, Jobey07, Jersey Geordie, Jay Jay - a huge pat on the back for the lot of you.

Most importantly though, the site would be nowt without the guys who read and comment. You can have the best looking bar in the Quayside, but if it's empty it's pointless. Thankfully this particular bar isn't empty and is filling up nicely. And the best thing is that last orders is nowhere on the horizon.

I'm not sure a pub analogy on a Monday morning is a great idea mind...

Once again: Thank you!
