The sight we all wanted to see... Benny's back in training!
It's the sight we all wanted to see - Hatem Ben Arfa back with a ball at his feet!
It's the start of a long road to recovery for Ben Arfa, but it's still a nice sight to see.
Hopefully it will have boosted the rest of the squad who are on a high after the 4-1 victory over Wolves at the weekend and all but banish any thoughts of relegation at the end of the season.
What's that? You want more? Ok.....
On his return, the 24-year-old Frenchman had this to say the official club website:
"It is great to back in Newcastle and back with the lads. I joined in with the warm-up this morning and managed to do a bit of light training on my own, and it was good to see the rest of the players after such a long time."
Before moving on to thank the fans for their support and telling us that he can't wait to get back on the pitch:
"I will be continuing to follow my rehabilitation programme now I am back in Newcastle, and would like to thank the fans for their support while I have been out injured."
"It has been a difficult period without football, but I am pleased with how my recovery has gone and look forward to pulling on a black and white shirt again and getting back onto the St. James' Park pitch."
Not much more needs saying really. As I said in an earlier about Hatem Ben Arfa, this was a serious injury (really? ) with complications that could have been dire for the player himself.
All that matters now is getting him fit and making sure he is as strong as ever. He is looking a bit tubby (pot and kettle I know!) but I guess that is to be expected after such a long lay off.
Welcome back Benny!
