Ryan Taylor targets starting role…

I've been harsh on this lad!
Ryan Taylor has stated today that he won’t be happy to sit on the bench at NUFC and wants to prove to Alan Pardew that he is capable of performing at Premier League level.

Now I’m not sure if you all know about my feelings towards Ryan Taylor, but I’ll guess that you may have more of a clue by the end of the article. I’m not one to get on the backs of players and at times I can go too far defending them, but something about Ryan Taylor really really grates on me. Still, at least he wants to prove a point I guess;

“I’m always there and available for the gaffer. I know what he means by me being a different option. If he needs me, I’ll be there.” said Taylor. “Like any player, I’m not happy to sit on the bench. I want to show him I can play, and that I can be in that starting XI.”

Now excuse me whilst I vomit a little bit, but the thought of seeing him playing first team football for us in the Premier League makes me wretch. I wasn’t mad keen on him last season either, and that was in the Championship. A temporary sub is all he has ever been for us.

I just fail to see what Taylor can add to the team. He isn’t fast, can’t pass, can’t dribble and has somehow managed to gather a reputation for being a set-piece specialist, although as yet I’ve not seen any evidence of this in a black and white shirt.

The final straw for me was the Bolton game. I was in the Milburn Stand that game, blissfully unaware that Joey Barton, who I’d been watching warm up, was to be ruled out. When I saw Ryan Taylor trot out of the tunnel in his place I was less than impressed. I knew he’d balls something up

Sure enough, ten minutes into the second half, my hunch turned out to be correct as he miscontrolled the ball and then tried to snap a Bolton player in half. I said to the wife, who was doing her nails or playing with something sparkly at the time, that Taylor was an ‘idiot’ 😉 and that his lunge was a straight red. We know the rest……

Fast forward six weeks, and have we missed him? I’d say no, although others may disagree. Taylor does admit however that he has been disappointed to have been ruled out;

“It was six weeks, almost to the day I think, since I got sent off,” Taylor told the Gazette. “You never hear of a three-game suspension being six weeks. Normally, there’s a midweek game somewhere along the line so you play two in one week.”

“It’s just the way it went for me. I’d come back from an injury I couldn’t prevent, and then had a suspension 55 minutes into my comeback game, which wasn’t ideal. Hopefully, now I’ll get a few minutes on the pitch now I’m fully fit and free from suspension.”

Hopefully? For you maybe Raylor!

  1. Just because Real Madrid is like some Premier League all stars team and they still get walloped by Barcelona, I think it does wind up the media here somewhat.

It makes their ejaculations over English teams in the Champions League look silly when they end up getting a footballing lesson at the end of the competition.

Not Gatesheads favourite son but I do get confused when north tynesiders call them mackems.
My experience, having worked in Gateshead is, they speak more broad Geordie than north tynesiders. Plus they pay for the upkeep of the Tyne bridges which north Tynesiders don’t.
Nothing against north tynesiders but the Heed people have more right than anyone, bearing in mind loads of Geordie references relate to the mining community of Gateshead, plus the Blaydon races, to call themselves Geordies, apart from us Novacastrians!

  3. Yeah, nice to see you get personal straight away. You’re great in conversation, aren’t you?

Anyway, nice dive to get a penalty for Madrid. Let’s get excited, eh?

  4. What has that got to do with anything booby? You been on the peev?

I am from North Tyneside, as you picked up by my dialect, I am not involved in a **** measuring competition about who speaks more Geordie. What on earth is you craic all about man? Do you ever read it back and think ‘what the fck am I on about?’

Fair do’s with your reasons for supporting Real.

Barca haven’t been great tonight but if Villa had took his chances they should have won.

Still can’t believe we beat them at SJP.
We never realised how far we had come until you reflect.

  7. Ice I hated Jose at 1st but have really took to him from he left Chelski, but I dont think there is any need for that type of *****

  8. Batty I like Rangers too but someone saying something bad about them wouldn’t really bother me, But if they said owt bad about the Toon I would take it personal as they are my team 😉

As for the Barca game I think it was a fair result in the end

  9. I am a big Real fan. My boss in Spain got me into them as all the Spanish workies were Barca fans in the bar. Used to wind them up all the time. Was mostly due to Zidane I started following them though. Best player I have ever seen with my own eyes

You referred to me as Gatesheads favourite son.
    I was responding.
I take it you were referring to me as I’ve defended the point in the past.

  11. About being a Geordie? Nah mate.

Don’t know what you’re on about. New to these blogs if I am honest, just picked up the odd thing. Thought you were from that neck of the woods? Sorry for the confusion.

  12. Look Bobby, I can take a bit of banter, if you divvn’t agree with what I say and vice versa then fair enough. Give as much back as I get and always will, in good faith I may add. Just stop your little snide comments throughout the day when I’m not about, eh? I am here to talk about the club, not engage in personal battles.

I just don’t think you get me. No probs.
It’s difficult on here because you can’t see my glint in my eye when I take the ****.

Its not personal. It can’t be. I don’t know you.

  14. For all those who have criticised Man City recently for spending fortunes and winning nothing, it looks like they might be starting to fill their trophy cabinet.
I still would rather be in their position than ours. Anyone who says different can’t have supported them for as long as me, surely?

  15. I can see the glint in your eye bobby, just not when I am not about 😉

Never once had a problem with it so please dont misunderstand me. Dont stop your ways, its actually refreshing and occasionally funny. I just don’t appreciate my name in vain when I am not about, as you no doubt wouldn’t yoursel.

Its not personal. If you actually take a step back and analyse my comments, I actually change the names of everyone whether I agree with them or not.
I intend to stop doing so as most don’t get it.
You have to have a hate figure in most walks of life, so the group can bond and use that figure as their target.
I just hate nicey niceness all the time and pats on the back.
So we’ve all been emailing each other and decided the hate figure is you.

Jokin! It’s me and wouldn’t have it any other way.

  17. As for being an admin, that’s not a recent occurance, its been a while. Not one to shove it down people’s throats. Just happy to make sure everyone is sound on the blog and there are no numpties on as Toonsy cant be around 24/7. The crowd on this blog are spot on, as is the banter. No one steps out of line so I don’t even have to mention it. If they did, I know Batty, Dave, Rich and ice would have em anyway so I don’t even have to do owt.

Point is boobface I know it’s not personal, couldn’t care if it is anyway.

  18. How noble of you to be that very figure bobby!
You should be a Tory politician as you love it. You talk like one 😉

Don’t start acting all carefree now, I’ve been worried sick in case witters (dying to call him twatters) has ran out of hankies for you.
Witters, roll over and check under your pillow, you might have a spare sock by your bed to give him to wipe his eyes .

  20. So you have started using people’s real aliases now, yet have become more abusive? Does that negate it then? 🙁

I don’t have a comeback for that one bobby. I thought about putting myself in the same frame of mind as you and stripping down to my kegs whilst furiously tapping away at the keyboard and trying to swot up on Wikipedia, but then I thought I would go nail my wife instead. Have fun getting your kicks between the 3 blogs and 4 aliases you have and ‘fishing for bites’ from the Aussies.

    Night sweetie. X

  22. Giving raylor that much **** is out of order. I personally think the guy has one of the best crosses and free kick deliverys of ANYONE i’ve ever seen. The goal against accrington was phenominal and he can deliver that standard consistanly although admittedly leaves other areas of the game to be desired. It aint like scholoes can tackle is it? but **** me he can hit a ball

  23. Raylor’s goal vs Chelsea in the cup=woo! Although it was a ***** wall and a relatively straight forward free kick. Still theres no chance he can get into our squad…Right back or right mid, he’s just sh1te and we need to ship him out after this season. Rather give a youngster a sub appearance than him
