Ben Arfa will be fit for final three games.

Benny back soon.
There is little doubt that Hatem Ben Arfa is one of the most exciting players at Newcastle these days.

The skilled Frenchman is one of those players that is capable of getting you off your seat and creates a buzz within the ground whenever he gets the ball. Sure he might not do something special every time he gets the ball, but you never know if this time is going to be the time that something special comes off.

Put simply, I can’t wait to see the lad back in action. We should have had a whole season of tricks, flicks and skills out of the 24-year-old, but a cruel injury from a crude Nigel de Jong challenge plus an infection in his leg during his recovery put paid to that. Hopefully Ben Arfa will feel no lasting effects from the injury and hopefully it won’t hold him back in the future.

If there is to be any lasting effects then it won’t be because Ben Arfa hasn’t been worked hard enough. He trained in France before he came back to Tyneside, and then stepped it up a level in the search for match fitness. It was originally thought that the Liverpool away game was the target, but that has gone out of the window now.

“He has certainly been working this week,” said Alan Pardew when quizzed on the recovery of the Frenchman. “We think actually the last three games is a possibility and we are just going to leave it at that, featuring him in some part of those three.”

So that will put Benny in the frame for the home visits of Birmingham and West Brom as well as the away trip to Chelsea.

It’s been a long way back for Hatem Ben Arfa, but if we can get him back to full fitness, playing to his full potential with no long lasting effects of his injury then we could indeed have a very special player on our hands.

Fingers firmly crossed on that.

  1. There is a fair few bits and bobs floating around about Pitropia? Anyone heard anything of him? 25, Hamburg?

  2. Brilliant news, just so long as he isn’t rushed back and puts him out of pre season which would be our luck….Not much pressure on the lad now though…maybe a match winner in the final minute of our final game of the season to secure survival after a poor run of form in the next 5 fixtures? Sounds about right 😀

  3. Never heard of him Toonsy, don’t follow the Bundesliga if i’m honest, where does he play?

  4. Pitropia is pretty good. Loads of pace. But I don’t want too many key African players because of ANC once every 2 years. Would be good signing nonetheless.

  5. Can’t wait to see him back, but the real test will be the first time he gets chunked. Mentally more than anything. I would like to see him before the end of the season but don’t want any set backs.

Reet just home from night shift and now offto an interview. Wish me luck

  7. Hope nobody dares to wink at Ferdinand tonight, would hate to see us cause a riot because of provocative behaviour!
Seriously, how can the FA ignore the shenanigans of these spoilt twats after Saturdays game, DJ Campbell got a 3 game ban for pushing a player in the chest with the palms of his hands, well i saw Ferdinand and Anderson do the same to Man City players at least once.
Has there ever been a more badly behaved and hated team than ManU, no dignity in victory or defeat, in the 70’s Leeds and then Forest were both winning machines with plenty of tricks up their sleeves but opposition fans respected them.
Everyone is writing us off for tonight which takes the pressure off and anything would be a bonus, would be the sweetest win of the season, fingers crossed.

  8. Raffo – Knock em dead 😉

Bobby – The league is full of double standards. We had Dalglish swearing in front of TV cameras at the weekend, yet he isn’t being called in like Rooney was. That’s what pisses people off. Rule for one, rule for the other. If there was some consistency then people would know where the line is. If they crossed it then you know what’s going to happen. That’s not the case though.

  9. anyone have a link to Xisco’s goal against Santander?? btw Xisco… thats right… Xisco! did actually score against Racing Santander.

  10. Toonsy-just did some wiki-ing of my own 😀 Looks decent, but at the same time I’m gonna try and ignore every link this window…its too much to handle most of the time, and getting hopes up like, still at least we got arfa last summer after all that.

Bobby-couldn’t agree more mate..I think I suprised myself how much I cheered when Toure scored against ManU, just a bunch of ****** aren’t they, their whole team I mean. Undoubtedly some of the most talented footballers around, but I think Nani is more of a ***** than Ronaldo, Rooney is just a disgrace, Vidic is one of the dirtiest players in the league and Scholes still can’t tackle after 50 years of football. I know City have their fair share of ****** as well, but theres just something about ManU. I actually found it hilarious when Balotelli wound ManU up like that, and his childishness/arrogance reminds me of Maradonna-not saying he’s that good but he can get away with saying “Jack Wilshire who?”

  11. Just been reading in the Mail that one of the yoonited coaches kicked a hole in the dressing room wall at Wembley on Saturday after the game, allowing consistent bad behaviour from a certain group to go unchecked must not be allowed, the FA needs to take charge and use their powers to sort it out, if they havent got the bottle to use their authority then employ someone with a big pair of nuts who can stand up to them.

  12. Tell me this… If we didn’t have 35m (supposedly) kitty this summer, how many players do you think we would be linked with… It seems that all the rags have picked up on our 35m bounty and are linking us to every tom **** & harry. The other thing that gets up my goat is every top young player is a target for manure, chelski, gunners or the spuds. Seriously, how many players can they have on their lists.. as soon as somone shows a bit a promise, they are automatically linked with those teams.. sick of the same old same old from the press..

  13. Aussie – We’d be getting linked with everyone even if we had 35p mate. It’s the way it is.

  14. Toonsy It’s a possibility Ben Arfa will play in the last 3 games & he was exciting before De Jong nastied him. God willing he will play and is still exciting because he will be appreciated for sure

  15. hold on !!!!! did pardue not say he was back for the liverpool game?? that lad needs 2 keep his mouh shut he just says anything!! WELCOME BACK HATEM WE ALL LOVE YOU!!!

  16. We will lose tonight but I still think we will get more than 3 points in the last games. 3 points at Blackpool should be achievable considering the way they have totally collapsed. The home game against Birmingham could be another 3 points and we could well get a couple of draws on top of those.

3 points would probably keep us up but it would be nice to finish well clear of the scrappers.

  17. Army – Do you not think that maybe people can recover at different speeds? The Liverpool game was called early early, and I’m not surprised it’s been put back. As long as he recovers fully I couldn’t give a shyte when he is back. If it’s next season then so be it. If it’s the last three games, the same.

  18. I know what your saying Toonsy….. at least we have moved on fron being linked with nothing but championship players…

  19. Aussie 😆

I love the speculation me like. I know 99.9% of it is bollocks, but I do love looking at players we are linked with 🙂

  20. I’d prefer HBA to come back next season… other than seeing back in a black and white shirt strutting his stuff- there will be no real need for him to rush back and possibly re-injuring himself

      (Quote)

  21. Aussie – I’m all for him coming back this season, as long as he is fit enough to do so. I don’t want him rushed back. No point.

  22. Ha ha, I have to agree Toonsy, everybody (me) verbally hates but secretly loves the potential that some of these linked players may bring to our beloved club..

  25. Hmm, good question.

Dream by all means, but be prepared to have those dreams smashed with a sledge hammer 😉
