It’s the inaugural NUFC Blog Player of the Season vote, and it’s up to you, the fans, to decide the winner. Such is the prestige of this carefully sculpted (made from wood, tinfoil and sweat) award you’ll need to carefully consider your vote to make sure the right person wins this much sought after accolade.
There will be ground rules though. Any player listed on the following poll will have had to have made ten starts in the Premier League to be considered. They must also still be registered with Newcastle United, which is why Wayne Routledge sneaks into the vote. Erm that’s about it actually for ground rules. The nominees are as follows.

dan just watched that off Ed’s blog. And to think some people still claim he’s overrated and we’ve got ourselves over-excited about him! The only plus about him getting injured this season is the fact he hasn’t put himself right in the shop window. Incidentally, that’s the same reason I’m okay with Cheik being out tomorrow. Chelsea allegedly bid for him in January and I’m perfectly content for him to do nothing to enhance his reputation at the Bridge tomorrow.
Really, really hope we sign a striker worthy of playing in front of Ben Arfa this summer. Here’s what I feel we should, realistically, be going for for our starting eleven come August:

Nolan and Guti on the bench as big impact subs/ squad rotation through season. Hopefully Fergie, Vuckic and Kadar see more 1st team action and Ranger gets a season-loan to top championship side. Leeds or someone. Ideally I’d replace Lens with Gervinio and Osvaldo with Gamiero, and I’d also buy a CB like Samba to play instead of Taylor, but I feel this is (reasonably) realistic. There’s no reason we shouldn’t sign players of that quality and I expect a few more young Carr-specials we’ve never heard of. Wouldn’t mind Mutuidi coming in as Tiote’s understudy either!
