Another Ranger own goal!

Ranger's shhoting practice.
As you are all probably aware of by now, our very own Nile Ranger has been acting the nitwit again.

This bad-assed ***** was pictured holding a gun in a story that was printed rather visibly in The Sun this morning. The club say that Ranger has confirmed that the firearm in question was a replica and was not a live gun. Utterly and hopelessly irrelevant in my opinion, even though it is apparently not illegal to own a replica gun.

This latest escapade further exacerbates Ranger’s “gangstaaaaa” reputation init blood and was no doubt a riot between him and his crew who took the photo while he was in his crib, most probably chilling before a night on da Gin’n Juice. Brap. Safe!

However there is a real serious issue at hand here. As I said earlier, I don’t really care if the gun was real or not. It was a stupid thing to do as he should know that he has a responsibility to act with a bit of maturity. Posing like a tosspot with a pistol that looks real is not acting maturely in my book.

People will say that Ranger is young, naive and mistakes will happen. True, but there are mistakes and there are huge mistakes. This is the latter. I don’t hear of Shane Ferguson ripping into work and busting caps in asses. In fact I very rarely hear about any of the other NUFC kids misbehaving. It’s just Ranger.

He is 20-years-old now, which is old enough to know better in my book. He is living a very privileged lifestyle that all of us would no doubt die to have but will probably never see in our lifetime, yet Ranger continues to act the bellend.

He cocked up big style with this one and I hope he is reprimanded by the club accordingly The striker claims to regret having the photo taken, but it’s easy, almost too easy, to avoid – don’t put yourself in that position in the first place!

No doubt some do-gooder will pop up and say that we don’t know whether or not the gun is real or not. Let me ask you this; if somebody pointed one of them in your face would you still be so blase about it? I know I wouldn’t! I’d probably need the toilet.

Guns rip peoples lives apart, and Ranger posing with one sends out the wrong message entirely. In an era in which gun crime is being targeted and has become less “fashionable” (if it ever really was in the first place), Ranger has only served to glamourise and publicise firearms.

The ironic thing is that it’s shooting practice he so desperately needs. Unfortunately not this kind of shooting practice though.

Hang your head in shame Nile!

  1. Hmmmm,
Think some of us are looking too deeply into this Ranger picture.
He is a daft lad but I really don’t believe he deserves a lynching for it.

Bobby, you say speak to knife crime victims and gauge their reaction. True.
I imagine they would have the same sort of reaction as people who have lost loved ones to people speeding and hitting them in cars.
Is there outrage when a footballer is caught speeding? That’s actually a criminal offence, posing with a toy gun isn’t. Shooting someone in a training ground is worse than wht Ranger has done and what happened to A.Cole?

I really don’t think he is a role model to kids in the area he is from, is he? Eminem probably is, and all he goes on about is slitting womens throats and necking cowies. They listen to him whilst killing people with a club hammer on Grand Theft Auto.

As I have said he is a stupid naive kid, regardless of his age and the blame for the clubs name being dragged through the mire doesn’t lie at the feet of Ranger, it lies with the club.

If you employ someone, you look at their references. Ranger’s aren’t exactly glowing. You also look at their history and past tendencies and Ranger once again looks like a walking disaster. Loan him out and then sell him if we can get owt for him,

  2. @big Dave

Regarding Andy Carroll. ; I don’t condone anything he has done when breaking the law.
But I don’t see others condoning it so I don’t have an issue.
Regarding Dustys photos; he won’t allow me to upload his photos and I can’t betray him even tho I would love to!! 😛

    @APP
words fail me regarding your views. Crack on and dig your hole. 😥 🙁 🙄

  3. I only bought GTA so I could pick up hookers, have sex with them and then kill them and steal my money back.

    Don’t judge me 😥

  4. Toonsy 😆
No there’s good ppl in tenn plus he’s Irish so I doubt he’s a hick

      (Quote)

  5. @Moreno

I refer you to my comments to APP in my previous post. Dig your hole, you’re entitled to do so. 🙄

      (Quote)

  6. Bobby the point was there was loads of people saying how good Carroll was for whacking Taylor and causing ABH etc and that IMO was worse than what Ranger is getting slatted for as I said he is a bit Thick and didn’t cause anyone anyharm apart from himself.
Moreno I agree with you 😉 I think its being used mostly by people that already have a problem with him and an agenda

      (Quote)

  7. bobby we will just have to disagree then. Just hope you join me in the alleged hole that im supposed to be digging and realise that it isnt a big deal. 🙂

  8. @big Dave

I find yours and Moreno’s point of view very naive. 🙄

      (Quote)

  9. Dave, depends if the fans like you or not.

Previous examples. Steven Gerrard gets drunk and assaults someone. Any uproar from the Liverpool fans?

Ashley Cole shoots someone, Chelsea’s reaction?

David Goodwillie arrested for rape from Dundee United?
“Course he never did it!” – and why? because he is their best player.

the list goes on and on, you find it’s only the players people have a grievance with who get lambasted

      (Quote)

  10. Bobby, I find that you view things like a racehorse. You put the blinkers on and look directly at it charging ahead without considering any of the other factors around you.

      (Quote)

  11. Sy, because of that comment, that as a child I have to take seriously, you can no longer afford to get to the game 😉

      (Quote)

  12. As said previously the pic has done no physical harm to anyone yet is getting treated worse than incident that have caused harm. What if it was young fergie in the pic? Would it be alright because he’s a harmless looking little white guy? I mean he is from northern Ireland or is it just the big black guys we don’t want with guns?
The ***** pot that is the sun has thrown their poison bait out and in the words of BSn9, hook line and (insert your name here) 🙄

      (Quote)

  13. Bobby I can assure you that I am in no way naive, Maybe you have been brought up in a completely different way to me and a different way of Life.
I was going to go on but I wont bother as you are entitiled to your opinion

  15. Truth is societies that allow their citizens to have guns have a much lower crime rate and murder rate than societies that ban them or make them extremely hard to own. It’s easily researched but mainstream media and governments vilify them for reasons I won’t get into.

      (Quote)

  16. JG,

    I agree with that.
Golide Lookin Chain – Guns don’t kill people, rappers do, I’m a f*ckin rapper and I’m gonna kill you” is classed as comedy as it’s a load of welsh pillocks jumping about. If it was a bunch of black lads from South London I can’t see it being viewed as comedy….

      (Quote)

  17. Dave, he might even have some pics of his own with some more useful gun than that shiney inaccurate hand cannon Nile had 😉

      (Quote)

  18. I’m with toonsy on this one. It’s got nowt to do with whether the gun’s real or not – it’s his mind-set encouraged by the tossers he’s hanging about with and playing up to.
Mixing with ‘gangstas’ can only lead to trouble. The idiot’ll never learn and the slammer beckons.
Best we just get rid of the clown!

      (Quote)

  19. What proof do we have of the context of the photo or whether he was hanging out with his “gangsta” friends. He said his girl took the photo 😯
The sun reports we’re gonna lose a player to another club and it’s ” the sun is just full of it”, but on this “he has to go!” ???

  20. Truth is societies that allow their citizens to have guns have a much lower crime rate and murder rate than societies that ban them or make them extremely hard to own.
    —————-

JG- can’t say I agree with your statement but I do agree that legally owned ones are usually not the problem.

      (Quote)

  21. MDS – 😆 😆 😆

you have no experience in life to be making assessments like that 🙄 😀

      (Quote)

  22. MDS no offense mate but it’s not a matter of agreeing or not, as it’s not my opinnion. It’s actual fact that like I said is easily researched. 😉

      (Quote)

  23. Jersey-Those are global statistics and I’m sure you are right on that account. However, I think if you were to compare Statistics with MEDC’s, and particularly say Western Europe with America, you’ll find we have much lower gun crime and murder rates…

      (Quote)

  24. And if you were to compare it between Chapel Street in Leeds and the Outer Hebrides…. 🙄

      (Quote)

  25. Jersey, no offense mate- just sharing my opinion as well. I live in the States which of course is huge gun ownership and very high violent crime rate. Canada is huge gun ownership and very little violent crime rate.

      (Quote)

  26. Moreno, similar proportion of economic wealth, urbanised areas, population, or at least more similar, otherwise you can take the **** and talk about sierra leone or summit 😕

      (Quote)

  27. Aye Newkie, my point was that stats and facts on a scale such as that can really say anything you want. You really can’t make a comparison between the US and….well, frankly anywhere IMO.

Texas has a greater land mass than the UK but a much smaller population so I can’t see how the culture when it comes to guns can be compared. Totally different.

      (Quote)

  28. Jersey-just reading through now, some interesting points-but summit i just read

“For example, according to Bruce Knauft, the Bushmen
of the Kalahari, featured in the movie The Gods Must Be Crazy, had a homicide rate equivalent
to 41.9 per 100,000 over the 35 years from 1920-1955.
    24
In contrast, the American murder rate
for the latest available year, 2008, was 5.4 per 100,000 population. In the 1950s and early1960s
was around 5 per 100,000, i.c., 1/8th that of the Bushmen”

I mean, alright I’m just starting it, but that kind of thing is just incomparable, you can’t compare the U.S with the kalahari surely 😕

Check this out, purely on murder rates like
    http://news.bbc.co.uk/1/hi/153988.stm

      (Quote)

  29. Moreno, true the cultural difference is the key issue and it can’t really be compared because its just so, well, unique to both certain localities as well as countries as a whole. Agree that they can’t truly be compared, just trying to make the most suitable comparison i can really 😕 Dunno

      (Quote)

  30. JG 😉
Problem is with articles like that, you’ll be able to find another saying the opposite unfortunately so the debate could go on forever.
I think the reason the pics p!ssed a lot of people off isn’t just the photo itself it’s because it’s on top off all the other **** he’s done, so if Ferguson was pictured doing the same then no, as much fuss wouldn’t be made of it and rightly so, not because he’s white but because it would have been his first (known) idiotic act. As Dave said Nile seems to be a bit lacking in the brains dept but sooner or later there’s going to be a time when enough is enough, hopefully he’ll learn from this, heres hoping, won’t hold my breath tho.

      (Quote)

  31. Nah Newkie, don’t get me wrong, I know where you are coming from. My point was mainly to the previous statement (think it was JG) who was on about statistics regarding gun crime.

“Stats” don’t always tell the whole picture.

      (Quote)

  32. Dave….as an armourer I never had to clean a gas plug….I had those disposable ones “fire and go” 😉

    batty…I reckon it’ll pick up 2nd half 😉

      (Quote)

  33. Moreno-aye exactly mate, stats fit whoevers up for searching for them or how they present them unfortunately. Still, makes for good footie banter, Shola or Loven!? 😀

    Jersey-
” The gun free society of 13th centuryIceland portrayed in the Icelandic Sagas had an estimated homicide rate of 9.6, exactly equal to
that of the United States in 199″

Getting to some problems with this article-The usa with Medieval Iceland? come on? And its saying how less people were killed in Britain with guns in the 19th Century-how can you compare a Blunderbuss to an Desert Eagle .50? 😕 ❓

      (Quote)

  34. Moreno….thats what I mean, you could dig up stats supporting every sides view unfortunately…..thats why I wouldn’t bother 😆

I keep veering from kick the fecker oot he’s had enough chances to, we’ve had and have players who’ve done alot worse. At the end of the day, the lads still here and still plays for the Toon, end of really.

      (Quote)

  35. Newkie….that’s cos Ice was around in the 19th century and he’s a **** shot 😆

      (Quote)

  36. Richie

agree on Ranger though, still our man and he’s still not “crossed the line” so to speak, in my opinion.

      (Quote)

  37. True Richie, we should always get behind the lads but ffs…
The guy is a ticking time bomb. Nothing he has ever done suggests he will come good – and that’s in his life to date. He hasn’t even set the world alight with his football. He seems to stumble from one f*ck up to the next and learn absolutely nowt along the way.

I am all for giving people another chance but as someone mentioned earlier on today, not for 8k per week.

      (Quote)

  38. And that view isn’t anything to do with the picture today, that picture has been blown out of proportion by a few blinkered fans and the infamous Sun newspaper.

My view on him has been there a while and is unlikely to change, even if he starts scoring goals 😉

      (Quote)

  39. Moreno-thing is with Ranger, in my opinion anyway is that whilst he has personal faults and may fail because of them, I wouldn’t describe him as a “ticking timebomb” If keeping him around massively threatened squad harmony or diversely created a bad atmosphere and affected our results as a consequence I’d get shot of him in a flash. Thing is he’s just a dumb ***, if he fecks up it’ll just be him whos off with little fuss, and for 8k a week when he’s helping win us points and games, when we’ve had tw@ts on plenty more than that who’ve done **** all for it.

      (Quote)

  40. Moreno…thats the way I’m “veered” at the minute, kick the fecker out, not because of the content of the pic but because it’s yet another **** up in a long line of **** ups. I’m assuming it’s a recent photo otherwise they would have said it was “ages ago” or something…..has Pardew ever told him “this is your last chance” ? if he hasn’t he should have and I suggest he does it now.

      (Quote)

  41. Richie I agree on the whole amount of times bit but that’s why I think when this photo was taken is relevant .
Newkie I’m reading it myself and sorry about that primitive bit it’s a bit irrelevant I agree but it gets better. Not like I have an arsenal of articles on the matter that I can go to. Just did a quick search and saw that those to mentioned England and plus I’ve done some research on the subject and knew there would be tons of stuff out there.

If any of you can find good links with “stats” that prove otherwise I’d love to read it.

      (Quote)

  42. Moreno the same ***** Sun that ran tonnes of stories on how we had to share power with a party who’s 2 top men were (apparently) personally responsable for over 100 cold blooded murders, and they still wont tell the familys of the ‘ dissapeared’ where there bodies are 👿

      (Quote)

  43. Newkie, problem is, as he gets more limelight, gets more goals, starts to find his voice in the dressing room….all this –>

massively threatened squad harmony or diversely created a bad atmosphere and affected our results as a consequence

—> will happen. I have seen the way he talks to senior players on the pitch and he has no respect. Once he starts becoming a big man, his attitude will become more and more visible.

In my working life, I have seen this situation so many times, albeit in a different industry but the same outcome is likely. The guy is a really dangerous gamble, that’s why he was free and we ended up taking him. We will be lucky to get anything back from him. IMHO.

      (Quote)

  44. JG….Like I said I’d assume it’s recent, as I’d have thought they would have said “the guns a replica,he’s really sorry blah blah, but the photowas taken a while back and since that time he’s been good as gold and brings Mr Pardew a juicy red apple to training everyday etc etc” 😉

      (Quote)

  45. Newkie just saw that BBC link and it kind of proves my point because it’s very hard to own a gun in those cities mentioned and there are few people in those cities who own firearms.

      (Quote)

  46. Aye Dave, That rag isn’t worth using as **** paper, shame a couple of the bloggers have taken it as gospel and started shouting for him to be arrested and recommending we speak to gun crime victims and see how they feel 😯
