Win the NUFC 2010/2011 season review DVD.

The image of the season? Watch it on DVD.
I’m a big fan of giving something back. In fact it’s something that I used to do at my old workplace when a proportion of my wages went to charity every week.

So keeping in tune with my values it’s about time I gave something back to you guys and offered you the chance to win something at my expense. Now it’s only something small, a token if you like, but at least it’s something in the shape of the Newcastle United 2010/2011 Premier League review DVD. Don’t fret – bigger prizes and competitions are on the way. I’m merely using this as a warm up!

Now for a question I’ve had to think carefully. I can’t make it too easy, and with the internet making everything easily researchable I’ve plumped for a guessing game. So the the question is:

Who do you think we will play in our first game of next season?

Now I’m not looking for home or away – just the team will do. However there are a few rules which are outlined below:

1 – The competition is only open to registered users of the site. If you aren’t a registered user then unfortunately your entry will be void. If you want to win then you must register. Simples.

2 – To make it easy to administer you must enter the competition in your registered username. Not Dave or Richard or whatever your real name is.

3 – Entries must be sent via e-mail to [email protected]. You can chat about your guesses in the comments as always, but unless you send an e-mail your prediction won’t count. What I would like to see is your username in the subject line with your guess in the main body of the e-mail.

4 – You can send as many guesses as you like but only the first one will be counted.

The winner will be contacted via e-mail shortly after the closing date which is Thursday, 16th June, 2011. As long as your entry is in by the time the clock rolls over to Friday your entry will be counted. Shipping to anywhere in the world will be paid in full.

In the event of a draw there will be a tie-break question. The person who gets closest to the answer wins. If two or more people get the same answer then the winner will be drawn from a rather fetching flat cap that some of you may have already seen or at least heard about.

The competition is open!

  4. dave vote for them, it means that you cant win,,
it will be some one newly promoted or one of the top six, they want to make the first weekend exciting, not have mid table teams battle out for bore draws.

  5. Good to see the Germans now have an actual German leading the line nowadays in “Mario Gomez” some sound Aryan lineage there. No more using the Polish combination of Klose and Podolski… 😀

  11. batty,

I sent him an e-mail with West Ham, just think we haven’t played them first game for ages

  12. West Ham got relegated, Moreno.

You’d have been better going with an established PL team like Birmingham.

  13. Has anyone ever seen Bobby Shinton in the same room as Steve Wraith?

And how about Stu79 and the guy from United for Newcastle?

Bit odd if u ask me.

  14. You’ll actually find that wherever there’s a problem outside of football with Joey, he isn’t too far away at the time 😕

  15. Back to the silly season gossip….According to newsnow (now featuring nufcblog.co.uk!) we’re going to make a ££5m bid for Long….. Worth it??

  16. Mental how Ricky van Wolfswinkel went for so little, less than Shane Long. anyone know much about him? Thought he was supposed to be good?

      (Quote)

  17. I haven’t seen much of him tbh but if we got him as back up for either Gervinho or Gameiro or a.n other that would be good. Not sure I’d want him leading the line.

  18. There’s another 2 france games coming up. Might not be such a bad thing if our targets don’t play. Remy came on as the sub striker for france so Gamerio is down the pecking order (he hasn’t even made his competitve debut for them yet). I don’t think Cabaye will get a game tbh unless they start getting injuries.
Shane Long missed a sitter in the champs play off final and didn’t really do much. Not convinced he’s prem class.

  19. His finishing was top class in the semi against Cardiff so you can say he had a great day then a poor day, it happens. If you score over 20 in the CC and show talent then I think you can easily be “premiership class” though I think I’d prefer graham..just so we have some strength up top.

  20. I think he could get a game and score a couple, but I don’t think he would be as prolific. He probably wouldn’t be much better than Best or Ameobi.

  21. someone plz answer this , what is hapening with gervinho? whens he gonna decide what club he is going 2??

  22. Long could have just had a good season. Before this season he never hit double figures in 5 seasons at Reading. 😕

  23. True DJG, though I think this is one of the first seasons where he’s been an established front man rather than a super sub. I think he’d be decent, and is probably more of a natural finisher than what we have, but like I said I’d still prefer Graham…

  24. Hey boys. What’s happened to the transfer frenzy that you’s were predicting last Sunday?
My god, I warned yous but you scoffed at my realism.

Every window opens and every gullible fools peer out and hail Ashley.

Then I throw water on the fire but lambasted for being negative, yet I’m always right at the end of the day.

  25. moreno @59 i am not that surprised , the lad is too light weight a half decent finisher and thats about it . I am surprised he has gone too Portugal where the defenders are killers , i dont think he will last long in that league . The lad is no better than we now have and would only warm our bench .

  26. Bobby,

It’s because cwarr (or any rumour for that matter) is instantly taken as gospel. Even though he has no past success 😕

      (Quote)

  27. Newkie,

It’ll be a point system like the uefa co-ef

Doesn’t taken into account who they played and the league they’re in
