My old schoolmate Remie Streete signs new three year deal!

Streete's ahead?
Newcaslte’s reserve centre-back Remie Streete has today signed his first professional contract penning a three-year deal with the club.

In doing so we have also extended his scholarship which means that his contract won’t officially start until his 17th birthday in November, so his contract will take him up to the age of 20 where the club will obviously look at the situation again and see whether or not he is worth another deal.

Now I have seen Remie play at first hand, albeit a few years ago now, but even then I could see that he had something special. I was on the school team with him and even though he was a year younger than everyone else he was still tearing people apart.

He plays as a centre-back now, and you can see why with his 6′ 2″ frame, but back then he used to play upfront. Mind you, we all know that when your young you can play pretty much anywhere on the pitch.

The former Jack Hixon award winner’s finest moment so far came not too long ago when he was part of the side that won the Northumberland Senior Cup against Blyth Spartans where he looked more than comfortable playing against grown men. Peter Beardsley, Willie Donachie and Joe Joyce have done a great job with our kids, and with Beardsley hinting that Remie will have a big part to play in the reserve setup next season it could be a big year for him.

So in the last few weeks we’ve seen Shane Ferguson, Michael Richardson, Ryan Donaldson and now Remie Streete sign new contracts – there’s a pattern starting to form here!

It’s great that the club are tying down our young stars for the long-term and it can only bode well for the future.

Long may it continue I say!

Interesting and exclusive Gervinho quotes on their way too…#afc #lfc #nufc

Remie was good in school, like you said Dan he was a class striker at the time and used to torture everyone 😆

  3. Not seen him but I’ve heard that he is a beast. In fact if you look at him next to the other younguns I wouldn’t be surprised if they were shit scared of him. Not only tall, he’s got shoulders like boulders 😆

    Like me 😉

  5. 😎 I remember seeing him at the Blyth match and pointing out to my mate he was one to watch, I hope the future proves me right.

  6. Arsenal has more pressing needs than an attacking winger. I dont think they’d have the cash for Gerviho without selling arshavin or fabregas

  7. I actually think the following line gives us a good chance:

“I want to prove myself in a top league in Europe.”

That to me says that I want to be a regular starter and show my worth. Would he be a guaranteed starter at Liverpool with Carroll and Suarez and Kuyt out wide, whilst at Arsenal they have Walcott, Van Persie, Chamakh etc. so I think we’ve got a very good chance. Watch this space!

  8. AGREED ahmed although….think it could be slightly wishful thinking, clutching at straws

  9. I see your point Ahmed and hopefully he will sign. Be a very big coup if he does. We shall wait n see. Bojan on loan eh? Be another coup if true 🙄

  10. MDS makes a good point too, Arsenal need to address their defence and goalkeeping problems first and foremost before looking at spending money on their attacking options. I’m going to remain positive and say we’ve still got a good chance. Not saying we definitely getting him but wouldn’t be as surprised after reading those quotes.

  14. AofD: at least if we cant get gervinho we can get bojan!
This could be cracking stuff though if gervinho and cabaye sign….come on toonsy its never boring!!

Lampard scores loads of goals from midfield, but how many of them are penalties? Also, Chelsea often plays with a 3 man midfield that relieves Lampard of defensive duties, allowing him to create and score goals.
Not that he isn’t a natural scorer with impressive tallies, but he simply gets far more opportunities that a midfielder from an average team.

  16. @Johno Toon: Well,Mourinho is now the manager of Newcastle after i resign and leave for AC milan.

Won everything in NUFC in my 3rd year there.

And i am sure u will be shocked if u played my game,as my game the economical transfers are HUGE and ridiculous. 😆

i played cheat and used Man city amount to bid NUFC gk(current reserves gk) for €126million and thus making NUFC the 5th richest club when i was there.

    😯

  17. FSS – True, but he also did alright for an average West Ham side as a conventional midfielder.

Any central midfielder that is knocking on for 200 goals in his career has to be classified as one of the best surely?

  18. If the clubs new policy is adhered too, is Shola the next ” Senior Pro” on their hit list as he is only 6 months younger than Nolan?

  19. 126 mil? F**k me 😆 I agree the game is riciulous…Ridiculous brillant 🙂 I have Neymar up front for me 🙂 If only it was real…

  21. I think lampard is quite good but over 30 now, along woth Cole, Gerrard, Terry, etc. I just wonder how the next generation will do when the league is getting quite packed with non-english talent. It very well might impossible to have a top-notch national team AND the best domestic league in the world

  22. I wouldnt take lampard Liam. Very overrated and very annoying. Plus he doesnt like Wor Joey 👿

  23. Right about Lampard at West Ham. He has scored a ton so consistently it’s astounding. The penalties and abundance of chances at Chelsea do inflate his numbers, but he’s so far beyond any other midfielders he has to receive a lot of credit.

England playing him and Gerrard at CM has been horrendous. Squads like Italy would never go up against Germany without at least one real holding mid, probably two. Problem is, though, there are so few decent English holding mids. That’s why Joey wasn’t so far off when claiming he deserved a chance.

  24. Im not sure many players like joey or ashley from the way contract negotiations are going!

      (Quote)

  25. I think holding mid is one of the most important positions on the pitch, Look at the Chelsea team that had Makalele. Look how much better we have been since Tiote. When Makalele was sold from Real Madrid and they bought David Beckham, Zidane said,
‘Why put another layer of gold paint on the Bentley when you are losing the entire engine?’ 😛

  26. A potential England team in years to come:
    Hart
    Richards Jones Smalling Gibbs
    Rodwell McEachran Wilshere
    Young Sturridge
    Carroll

If Rodwell comes through sthey would be set. For Euro 2012, I think they should forego a number 9 and give a 4-3-3 a shot. Young, Rooney and Adam Johnson up front, 3 of Lampard, Wilshire, Gerrard, Milner in midfield. If Rodwell breaks through this year I would seriously consider him.

I actually think that Milner is excellent as a central midfielder. I could swear Keegan played him there right before he left and commented that he saw his future there.
