Toon on TV

Arsenal selected for TV coverage
The lads have been back in pre-season training for just over a week and it’s time for Sky to announce which games are televised, this is an important time for a lot of us living many miles away from Newcastle desperately hoping for plenty of TV games.

With Newcastle hosting Arsenal on the first game of the season it was one many of us expected to be televised after the 4 – 4 thriller last year, and that is exactly what has happened with the game being played at 5:15 on Saturday live on ESPN. So that’s us once again being waiting till later than most clubs to play our first game of the season, hopefully a big TV shock is on the cards.

To my bemusement we’re once again not televised in our Tyne and Wear derby. I just don’t understand that really, they put us on TV last year and we served them up a 5 – 1 thriller, what more could we have done? And now once again the away leg has escaped TV coverage, oh well, crappy online stream it is to see us demolish the Mackems. 😉

These are the games which have been changed for TV coverage up until the end of November, 5 games isn’t too bad. I’m very disappointed that the Sunderland game isn’t on, but I like the fact we have two Monday night football games, but it is a bit of a shame for the travelling fans.

Arsenal (H) 5:30 Saturday 13th August (ESPN)
QPR (A) 8:00 Monday 12th September (SKY)
Tottenham (H) 4:00 Sunday 16th October (SKY)
Stoke (A) 8:00 Monday 31st October (SKY)
Everton (H) Saturday 5th November 12:45 (SKY)

After seeing the televised games released it has really started to make it feel like the season is near, thank god. Last season we were on the TV quite a lot, and these are only our televised games up until November, so I’d expect a lot more before the end of the season.

Also the Sunderland and Liverpool games have been moved to 12:45 but have been not scheduled for TV coverage. I know Sunderland is so people cannot have a drink, and cause trouble, but Liverpool I’m not really sure.

Seeing the release of these has made me for excited for the start of the season, does anybody share my excitement?

My missus fair cracks the sh*ts during the season.. I am always camped in front of the tv over the weekend… 😕
