Do you think you have what it takes to pick a winning team? You do? Well do you think you have enough about yourself to beat hundreds of other aspiring managers all bidding to be the No1? You do? Then read on…

Ladies and Gentlemen I give to you the NUFC Blog Fantasy Football league where you can win £100 to spend on club merchandise just by being the best.

That means that you could get next seasons shirt if you choose, or even two, or twenty teacups, or about nine scarves, or five sets of car mats or anything you want really. It’s completely up to you. There is a catch though, and that is that you have to enter a Fantasy Football competition to be in with a chance of winning it.

We’ll be using the premierleague.com version of the game as, in my opinion, it’s far better and means that you don’t have to inadvertently sign up for a betting account account like you have to with other Fantasy Football games. Ahem… Sky!

The theory of it is really simple. You get £100 million to pick a 15 man squad that will take you through the season. That squad consists of two goalkeepers, five defenders, five midfielders, and three strikers. You then pick and choose which XI you want starting each week and so on. A far more comprehensive FAQ can be found by clicking here.

You will need to register to their site and as a result we can take no responsibility for any third party activity that arises as a result. What I will say is that you can opt out of all marketing and communication from premierleague.com because I’ve just done exactly that.

Once you’ve registered and picked your team you will need to join the NUFC Blog league. To do that you need to make sure your are logged in first and foremost, then click the ‘My Team’ tab. You’ll then see the kit of your team, which is plain white as a default but it can be changed. Underneath that look for the ‘Create and join leagues link’ and click it. Then click ‘Join a league’, then click ‘Private league’ before hitting ‘next’ and enter the code 119955-41341 in the box that will come up. Once you’ve entered the code click ‘Join private league’ and you should be sorted.

Now for some NUFC Blog ground rules.

1 – When you register your team, make sure that your team name is the same as your moniker on here. For example my team is simply called Toonsy. It may be boring, but at the end of the day it helps people looking at the table know who is who.

2 – To be in with a shout of winning any prize you must be registered on this site to enter. Entry is free and if you haven’t registered here on NUFC Blog then you can do so by clicking here. You’ll need to answer a simple maths question which is easy, but if you have any problems with registration then just get in contact with us by e-mailing [email protected] or by using the contact form in the top menu.

3 – Prize winners will be checked and if you aren’t a registered user then you will forfeit any prize which will then be awarded to the next person down the list, which is why I said you need to register! You can just play for fun but unfortunately you won’t be eligible to win any prizes. But that’s no excuse as it only takes two minutes to sign up!

4 – The score calculations are the responsibility of premierleague, com and their decision is final. I will try and get them to answer any disputes but their decision stands and I can’t do nothing to change that.

5 – The main prize will work on the basis of the winner picking items from the club shop and informing us of what they wish to receive up to the value of £100. We will then sort it for you and get it delivered to your home address or an address of your choice. If you are the winner we will contact you.

6 – Most importantly, it’s a bit of fun. Yes there will be prizes up for grabs but overall it’s something that is meant as a game, a bit of laugh to generate some banter if you like. Don’t take it to heart.

That’s about it really. I’ve got my team in and I’m sure there will be a fair few of you who will follow suit and hopefully make this a great competition that we can all have a bit of fun with. Obviously keep an eye out for updates throughout the season as they will happen fairly regularly

We all think we’re managers, we can all talk a good game, but the question is are you man enough to put your team selection to the test?

Best of luck. The competition starts now!

  1. Mine is being weird, putting players in the wrong positions and saying they’re from different clubs.

  8. Scottoon – I don’t think they’ve updated the recent transfers yet. Plus the positions doesn’t matter, like for example there is no thing as a left back, just a defender, that kind of thing.

  9. OK folks following on from Toonsy’s Classic league at Premier Legaue.com, I have set up a Head to Head league which pits sides against each other with a fixture list on a weekly basis exactly the same as a standard football league works. This league will be made up of 20 teams, so is exlusive. Get in there quick. I will be posting this on each new topic until all the slots are taken. 19 to go!

There is no prize the end of the season, just a bit of a fun.
Joining is the same as explained on Toonsy’s article and the code is 139461-54775. 🙂
