Game On! Newcastle v Manchester United

Howay the lads!
Welcome one and all to this evenings game against Manchester United hosted at St James’ Park.

It’s always a tough ask to beat Manchester United but, as ever, fans will be hopeful of causing an upset in front of a packed out St James’ Park.

The Sky TV cameras are in town tonight and will be broadcasting the match around the globe, which is great if you’re going to the pub or sitting at home watching on Sky, but not so great if you can’t do either. Luckily these days all you need is an internet connection, which you probably have if you’re reading this! Fortunately the chances of catching a stream this evening are pretty high.

For a preview of the match why not peruse my match preview which you can do by clicking here or if you’re more of a numbers guy or gal why not take a look at NUFC stats statistical preview of the match by clicking here.

There isn’t too much else for me to add really that hasn’t already been said. Now it’s over to the most important part – the match. Team news will appear below as and when it becomes available and hopefully we’ll be naming a winning team against the Red Devils. We’ll see!

Howay the lads!

  1. what a cracking result, I had faith in the two big men starting against Man U’s defence. Excellent choice by Pards. The team worked their socks off.

M.o.M Coloccini, Ba, Tiote & Cabaye, the rest were close 😀

But holy hell are we going to miss Ba!!! How f–king brilliant is that lad?!

  6. I hope we secure Colo soon, he was amazing tonight. As the commentator said on Sky, it would cost millions to replace him.. so why not just give him a decent contract……

  7. Well I didn’t see that coming!

Fantastic effort from the lads. Well done!

However. If nobody thinks we won’t miss Ba they’re crazy! He’s outstanding!

  8. Great performance from simmo, good bounce back from lpool. Also, he really does seem to step up his game when we played manure, great stuff!

  9. Very impressed with the performance. Especially since Santon’s forward play made up for Jonas’ complete ineffectiveness. Jonas needs dropping imo. He’s useless

  10. i’ll second that MARK we need Colo to sign up asap , Cabaye needs a pay rise as well along with Tiote and BA .

  11. Jonas needs dropping imo. He’s useless 😯

I thought he played his part in tracking back, getting stuck in.

  14. Aged 18 , Santon was being tipped to be a £30m player.

    We bought him for £5m.

He looked very much like a £30m player tonight. So composed and never put a foot wrong.

Now yous all kna why I was so pissed off about our **** poor performance against Livershyte.
WHY???? We could have been well safe sitting in 6th if we had played like we did the neet.
4-4-2. Long ball tictacs n all.
Well done Pardew you got it rite tonight.
Great goal from Demba and an unsaveable screaming free kick from Yohan Cabaye.
Dont think I will be able to sleep now.

  17. coloccini was my man of the match.
He really reads the game well and is always relaxed, composed and comfortable.
We wont get a better CB ever. ffs give him what he wants to sign on for another 4/5 yrs.
Surely its not rocket science. 👿
I think he really controls that back line well, and is becoming a great team captain.
I want curly hair too

Rich your right plus he needs to work on his celebration 😆
    ———————

I saw where he said he didn’t celebrate because he felt bad for the other goalie. Said it happened to him once and it was the most embarrassing moment of his career….

  21. Richie didn’t I say Workyticket would delete witters post, he doesn’t want new bloggers knowing he scams money of them 😆 😆 he is such a coward he wouldn’t have it out with him cause he knows he’s wrong so just deletes the post, and thats from a boy that stated he never deletes or edits posts 😀

    @toonsy did u ban Gorgonzola?

I doubt he’s show his face on here anyway after that hissy 😆

Don’t worry about Gorgonzola mate, he’s just one of the knobheads who normally inhabits Ed’s blog. He went scurrying back there after his little hissy on here, and made a *** of himself again:

Here’s a few comments he received from over there:

    Dannyo // Jan 4, 2012 at 10:18 PM

    @gorgon
What a poor, poor example of a supporter you are, get lost man, u’ve got nothing to do here.

    750 Ruddy Marveaux-lous // Jan 4, 2012 at 10:19 PM

Gorgonzola, you sir are an idiot, if you aren’t happy with that result and performance then you really need your head tested.

    751 toonarmydownsouth // Jan 4, 2012 at 10:19 PM

Gorgan cheer up u miserable *** we just dominated the reigning champs and beat them 3-0

  31. I hope Ashley reads the ManU comments regarding what good players we’ve got.

I’d love to build a team around Tiote, Cabaye Ba & Colo. Keep krul while we’re there and Santon 😀

      (Quote)

  32. By the way, for those of you who attended the match, well done!!!! SJP seemed to be absolutely rocking. The noise after Cabaye’s goal was incredible, as was the standing ovation for Ba

      (Quote)

  33. Mark Santon was good at times. Nice overlapps with Gutti, will only get better from here. He should be a regular for the remainder of the season if he stays fit.

      (Quote)

  34. @BB aye, I’d agree with that. He can only get better.

Shola played well with his knock ons. still turns like hes on stilts and in a dream tho 😀 he played his part 2nite.

If we played like that and had Carroll knocking balls down we’d have an excellent forward line, aint gonna happen tho so just ignore what I’ve written 😀

      (Quote)

  35. Jonas and Obertan should take some lessons off Santon when it comes to running at people 🙂 Nah honestly the guy is a good wide player, if his knee holds out then we have done well there.

  36. Mark @ 430 just witters and MM getting a bit of stick on the match banter page on .org and donors from wanky then Witters giving him a bit back, then worky deleting posts but he knew he had been caught so he has put them back up again 😆 😆 😆 what a sad *****
