Welcome one and all to our ‘Game On’ article which this evening will take us through every twist and turn as the Magpies take on the Gunners in North London.

It’s going to be a toughie, but a positive result would keep us up there chasing 4th place for another week although I personally feel that it is beyond us and that we’d do better to concentrate on consolidating our current 6th place standing.

As has been discussed, Arsenal have hit a hot streak and are scoring goals while Newcastle are struggling in terms of picking up wins. It will be a home banker in the eyes of many, but it was last season also and we won so you just never know.

Now it’s time for the players to do the talking. Team news is below and will be updated accordingly so now all you have to do is sit back, try and relax, and watch in while Newcastle set about getting some points at a ground which, over the years, has hardly been favourable to us.

    Thought we played ok against a good side. Gutted to concede last min.
    Think Simpson went down to easy looking for a free kick when he lost the ball and they countered and scored. Dont want to sound like im blaming him he played well but annoying

  32. Proud of the lads tonight. Take out williamson and we have a very resolute team. They were starved of possession but fought their hearts out. Devastated at the end but feel more optimistic about the rest of the season now than i was before the game HWTL

  47. I just wanna cry, why they scored this fucking goal, and why Shola doesn’t take RVP head and slap his fucking face, I hate this guy with his fucking smile in his face.

    But still the goal we concede just after completely kill us because we have great first 30 minutes.
    Colo and Simmo(even If I’m surprise) was good. But Willo and Santon first half was just out of the game.
    Obertan had a good game.
    Cabaye was really really poor today, I think his weakest game since he is at Newcastle, he seems so stressed with the ball, almost only bad passes, and in the last action when Arsenal scores if he was smart he can made a big foul in Van Persie in the middle and stop the action.
    Benny receive 2 good balls in the all game he scores 1 good ratio. But he was completely useless with our style of play. I can see in the second half he was completely lost in the pitch, he was just focusing in tracking back, but that’s not his game.
    Shola good 20 minutes.

    I sill don’t know why we sit so deep in the second half and start again playing just hoof ball. I think Cabaye must ask for the ball more and try to turn and take a risk and make a pass.

  56. Van persie is a great player but i really hate him as a person before that. I see in a lot of interviews from Arsenal player and even when he plays in Rotterdam that he is a fucking *******.
    He wanna play the boss with Krul, he seems to say to him” you know who I’m, you are just the keeper of Newcastle, so shut up”, Robben has exactly the same character, I hate this kind of guys, Why we don’t have a guy like Viera or Ibrahimovic in our team to slap this guys even if they knows they will be banned 4 games, I don’t care.

  57. Toby @262. Exactly right. Simpson had to make sure we kept the ball with only a minute and a half left – the ball should have been thrown to Shola and taken into the corner. Very poor decision – schoolboy error that has cost us a point – gutted.

  60. Yeah ok we loose the ball 90 meters far from our goal, That not must be automatically a goal, Cabaye could stop the action with a big foul, Willo can just hit the ball better with his head. Just a combination of small mistakes.
    I had slap Simmo a lot of times this season, but today he had a decent game honnestly. Our big mistakes is all the time, we just stop playing after 30 minutes and playing hoofball.
    But even more problematic when you play hoofball and you sit so deeply no one goes to fight for the second goal.
    you cannot do that, we have done that so many times this season. I think Pardew must find a solution to stop that

    I just imagine what he has sayed. I see nothing. I just know that RVP is a fucking *******, and Krul is not know to be nervous like that, so I think RVP said something like that to make Krul so nervous.

  66. 1 question what the **** do we do about Williamson until the end of the season . He is a liability and the back 4 are suffering for it , is their not a case for trying 1 of the young boys in his place . Kadar springs to mind ,ok we are getting rid of him in the summer but maybe that is a reason for him to show the club we are wrong to let him go .

  69. I am so annoyed at Simpson. I am just shocked at his complete lack of football sense. He has been gash for the past 2 seasons but gets a goal line block in every so often to earn some plaudits but he contributes absolutely nowt else to the team.

    I always support the lads and give them a fair crack of the whip but I actually can’t wait till he leaves for pastures anew. Awful football player in general.

    Agree completely, We just need to take some risk from behind and that Cabaye ask the ball more. We just never want to take the risk so the easy pass is to Krul who hoofs the ball.
    At least Benny try to stop the ball and make a pass or a run, even if he looses the ball sometimes.

  74. We should be capable of keeping the ball. We just don’t seem to be. Its a disgrace that we keep giving it away so cheaply whenever we play the teams around us. We’ll win nowt giving it away because it just invites wave after wave of trouble. GUTTED!
