Game on at Chelsea!

Welcome one and all to our “Game On” article which this evening will take us through every twist and turn of the game at Stamford Bridge.

It is an unfortunate fact perhaps, but we are fast running out of football this season. On the plus side though we at least have something to play for, and that is rather amazingly a stab at qualifying for the Champions League. I’m not going to go through it again as everyone knows what is needed.

The odds are slim of course with three tough games remaining, but whilst it’s still mathematically possible we have to make sure we give it our best shot, which is something the players failed to do during the 4-0 weekend loss to Wigan.

I’ll leave it there for this game as not much else needs adding really. However if you do wish to read a bit more background on the match then by all means feel free to have a quick read of the match preview which details any news of injuries, suspension and a bit of history about the fixture.

Unfortunately the TV cameras have chosen to show the Bolton v Tottenham game this evening which means that we won’t be broadcast here in the UK. In turn that means that if you happen to come across any decent streams that you’d like to share by way of leaving a comment then you will be more than welcome to.

    Fancy we could win the midfield battle but concerned about conceding. Hope willos confidence is ok after wigan. Bench looks so much stronger with Obertan and particularly marv for me

    Im a bit worried about Perch and Willo in the same line up, the rest of the team is fine just them 2 but maybe they’ll be on fire tonight and we can keep Chelski out

    Well thats not as strong a side as they could have put out, But still certainly good enough for them to win.

    On the other hand always think when we have Krul, Colo, Tiote, Cabaye, Ba, Benny and Cisse playing we can give anyone a game and fancy us to bounce back… :mrgreen:

    Is this the first game that Simpson misses?
    Personally, would love to see Marveaux come on late and even score one just to let us know he’s back. I was really excited about his potential and was bummed to see him get injured. Would like to see him light it up if given an opportunity.

    Richie personally I think Ben Arfa’s goal was more worthy of goal of the season than Crouch’s. Any player could have scored the Crouch goal with a hit and hope 1 in a 100 chance of it coming off, it was the first touch that made it. Not many players could score the Benny goal apart from Messi, Silva and a few others. It took more than a good first touch.

    I’m genuinely shocked at what I saw at the end of that game. Seriously, what a goal. I can’t believe he even tried it. Ridiculous! We have the best striker in the league. The most natural finisher around right now.

    It is indeed a great time to be a Newcastle fan. We must just enjoy it guys. These bunch of players we have, have the right balance of hunger, youth, experience and probably the best team spirit I have seen in this generation of big money football. All these ingredients work congruently to give us these results.

    The defence were immense today that is the foundation Cisse had for his double strike again Pardew got the tactics just right. Once we got the goal we let Chelsea play the ball and keep possession but that tactic on its own does not work without a defence on which you can rely and today all the boys colo williamson etc played like Gods.

    I will even argue that this is the best football we have played ever Simply because the league has never been this competitive.

    I have to take my hat off to Pardew his play, calls in the final part of the season have been Manchester united like.

    Incredible performance. When Ba hit the bar I was worried Chelsea might come out strong in the second half, but we were the better team. We played the better football.

    Just simply outstanding. We deserve no worse than fifth this year.
