Game On! Everton v Newcastle

Game On at Goodison!
Welcome one and all to the final ‘Game On’ article of the season – an article which will take in the visit to Goodison Park.

Amazingly both sides still have something to play for on the final day of the season, although Everton’s reason is more about pride than anything else.

The Toffees know that a win today will ensure they finish above Liverpool for only the second time since the Premier League began whilst Newcastle know that they have to win to be in with a shout of qualifying for the lucrative Champions League whilst hoping that either Tottenham or Arsenal (or both) will slip up in their games this afternoon.

It’s all shaping up to be a fascinating final day of the season. The destination of the Premier League title is still yet to be officially decided, there is still one relegation spot to be filled, and obviously we have a three-way battle for third place which is the one we’re involved. It’s all jolly good!

I don’t need to go into much more detail as myself and Statto have already done so. Once again Statto has provided us with one of his excellent “Stat-Attack” articles, plus you have my very own match preview to view should you decide to take a look at any injury news, team news or history of the fixture.

Unfortunately the TV powers that be have decide to screen the title showdown between the two Manchester clubs. A shame but you can kind of understand it. That means that we are relying on streams to see what goes on at Goodison so naturally if you happen to find a good one then by all means share it.

However, regular commenter Jill has been in touch and has an alternative if anyone fancies trying it. The game is being shown on Fox Soccer 2 Go which is a subscription service that usually costs $19.99 a month. However Jill has a code which allows a one month free trial, which you can then cancel right after the game. The code you need is XOOMFOX.

That neatly wraps things up and now it’s up to the lads to do their bit and try and claim a Champions League placing. Will they be successful? We’ll find out in a few hours!

  5. Well the lads have done us proud overall but at times they just crumble, we need a real leader that can grab hold of a game and tell the players to up their game

  10. Wow what a season. Disappointing today but at least it wouldn’t have any difference to us in the league table. I agree with you Dave, whenever we’ve gone behind in any game we’ve never looked like being able to bring it back. The only exception I can think of is Spurs at home. A few “leaders” required.

  11. P.S. I saw Barton lost it again. Elbowing Tevez and fighting with Aguero. Does he not realise the Falklands is over? 😆

  15. Glad for Citeh even if they are moneybags as it’s nice to see someone different win it ,was bloody close though ,I would hate to be a Citeh fan going through all that stress poor sods.

  16. Aussie 😆 I’m chuffed Citeh won it like, about time a new name was on the trophy.

  17. Kim
If they hadn’t won it this year, I think there may have been ‘words’ with Mancinni by the owners 😈

  18. Danish….that’ll be expensive for you, last time I was in Denmark it was a wee bit pricey……and that was in the 80’s 😯

  19. Just saw the barton footage.. the guy is a peabrain.. an embaressment to himself, his club and the game of football..

  20. He might’ve gone on a extended ‘vacation’ and ‘decided’ to leave City as he wanted to stay on ‘holiday’.
Disapointed by the result but we knew it was unlikely we’d get into the CL from the todays fixtures, I’m looking forward to Europe, sad there won’t be football for a while and I now no longer give a **** who wins the CL (though would prefer it to be BM as chelsea don’t deserve it).

      (Quote)

  21. Andy..I’d have been more gutted if Le **** and Spuds had lost and we played like that.

      (Quote)

  22. Richie
That would have killed me, that we could’ve gotten CL football if we weren’t so **** 👿 😆

      (Quote)

  23. Hitman….not the best day to compare after Cabaye started on a ballboy, but I reckon I’ll go cabaye 😆

      (Quote)

  24. Well what have we learnt today lads. 1. we ain’t quite the finished article and are prone to bottle it 🙄 . 2. A few clubs may think twice about nicking our best players 😀 . 3 Always believe you can win no matter how late in the game ,just ask Citeh 😎 .4. We may have an unlucky away strip?, bring back the orange 😆 . And finaly Mr Joey Barton is STILL one big prize knob 🙄 😆

BUT HEY WE ARE IN EUROPE ! HWTL 😀 😀 😀

  25. richie
I heard about that, what was actually going on?(ball boy cabaye incident, not barton I heard all about that 🙄 😈 😆 ).

  26. just to add to what Danish said, if we draw a Spanish team and ya over here, ya can **** off if you think I’ll get the drinks in…unless it’s Toonsy s’pose as I owe him a drink 🙄 😆

      (Quote)

  27. Did Cabaye get a card at the end? We were poor today. Maybe it’s just as well to show up our shortcomings. Over to you Ashley.
