Pressure grows on Pardew

Plenty to ponder for Pardew
I think it’s safe to say the honeymoon period is well and truly over for Alan Pardew now.

Whilst some fans have been dead set against him from the start, I think it’s fair to say that he’s done enough to win the vast majority around, especially last season when we played some great stuff and finished in a very decent and unexpected 5th place in the league.

However things aren’t going to plan this season and whilst I never expected us to really match what we achieved last season, mainly due to a failure by the ownership to add to the squad over the summer but also because I feel last season we had a lot of things go our way. I didn’t expect us to be this rubbish though and we are getting to the point now where questions need answering.

We’ve lost three games on the bounce now – two at home and one away – against teams that we shouldn’t have lost to. Granted any team can beat the other on the day but the fact is that we just haven’t looked like winning. Not even close. I dare say we could still be playing at Southampton and we still wouldn’t have mustered a shot on target.

The result yesterday really tipped my opinion. We we’re awful and I’m that p*ssed off about it still I haven’t even bothered writing a match report about it. In fairness I can write a brief one now which sums up our “performance” at St Mary’s. We never threatened. Southampton bossed us and deserved the win. The end. Sound about right?

Anyway I’m digressing as it isn’t just about the performance yesterday, which was woeful (I may have mentioned that previously…). It’s about the performances in general. I can take losing if we’re still performing and looking likely to get out of this rut we are stuck in, but we’re not and somebody has to start taking the blame for it.

Whilst I sympathise with Pardew in the sense that we are dealing with an awful lot of injuries right now, ultimately it is his job to get the best of whichever players are fit and available for selection. For whatever reason, that just isn’t happening.

If things aren’t working, which clearly they aren’t, then I expect to see something change. Isn’t a definition of madness trying the same thing over and over again but expecting different results? That’s what I’m seeing. No change in formation, approach or tactics, just the same thing time and again.

Pressure is growing on Alan Pardew in what is a results based business. Ultimately results have been poor and if they continue in that vein then surely it will only end one way? I don’t buy this eight-year deal being a sign of security either. Contracts are worth nothing these days and I have no doubt that Mike Ashley would have made sure he doesn’t have to pay out any huge compensation figure should the worst happen.

I don’t think Pardew is set for the chop yet and I honestly think he’s earned a bit of patience, but if things don’t improve soon enough then surely something will have to change?

What do you think?

  1. So Cabaye and Taylor both out until February.

So it’s Williamson or Perch we have to rely on at the back god help us and I have no idea who we have to rely on in the centre of midfield to replace Cabaye.

  2. Troy – Dodging statistics is almost like cheating death.

My view is that, irrespective of the statistics, I don’t think Pardew can use what is at his disposal and give us a team to be feared, and that’s not because there is anything wrong with what’s at his disposal. Indeed, he now looks like a man who could get us into a relegation dog fight. I’m not leading the race to give him the boot and I still hope I am wrong and everyone else is right.

“Should we not have been bold and predicted this earlier? That is the mark of intelligent foresight.”, you said. So what is your prediction and how long do you give him?

  3. @B&B Surely successful clubs that stick by their managers through the rough are a more valid comparison than clubs that constantly yo-yo and contribute to the 2 year average?
You say that it has no bearing on Pardew, and your right, so why bring up the average?

Well I think some of them performed incredibly well given their limited talents last year so we’ll have to disagree.
HBA is known for falling out with team mates and managers. His wikipedia references numerous fall outs.
All speculation but I believe Pardew would do a better job squeezing them than others. And he wouldn’t walk should he not get his way.

4 clean sheets in a row is our Premier League record.
We only got 6 points less than our highest ever SBR total.
You still have yet to mention any alternatives.

    That is a laughable statement.
There is a connection between Everton and Arsenal being strict with their finances and also having long term managers – they don’t cower down to fickle fan demands.

  5. Surely a contributory factor with injuries is poor training, hospital balls, the increased need for last ditch tackles, tiredness from chasing the ball … Just a thought that it’s not necessarily down to bad luck.

    @B&B

I don’t recall many fans being ecstatic with the appointment of Pardew, me included.

Lets not forget, there were no quality managers willing to take the post pre Hughton and he got the role by default almost.

My views at the time are same now. With Ashley’s transfer policy we will never achieve anything.

I was astounded at the league position we finished last season as I didn’t see the players bought being good enough. There’s no doubt the scintillating form of Cisse, Ba and latterly Ben Arfa, plus Colo and Krul papered over the cracks.

We were fortunate last season because we didn’t get badly hit with injuries or suspensions.

This season has demonstrated that the squad simply isn’t strong enough. I don’t believe any manager we could attract could do any better.

I expect us now to level out and finish where I thought we would last season. Mid table.

I certainly don’t rate Pardew as a top manager. However I don’t see us attracting anyone better whilst this regime are in charge.

Answer me honestly. If you were the owner, would you sack him now considering you don’t see him getting out this mess?

      (Quote)

  7. Strumpet – You mock fickle fans. Have you ever heard of the wisdom of crowds? Don’t underestimate the power of statistics. A statistical phenomenon is that crowds, using the average, can better guess the number of beans in a pot or the weight of an object than any one individual. The consistent results are truly remarkable.

Arsenal and Everton have long term managers because they appoint a good proven manager in the first place. The similarity between Moyes and Wenger is that they were largely very successful at their previous clubs. Their records are far superior to Pardew’s, which wouldn’t be hard.

On what basis would you ever sack a manager? What would you do if we free fall into relegation territory? Do you continue with a manager that starts with a good team, doesn’t get them to play, and then gets them relegated? Do you predict that the board will keep Pardew come what may?

      (Quote)

  8. Anyone noticed Carver looking sick as a parrot lately. It’s not just the last few results either. He’s probably as fed up as us with the tactics and formations.
Football’s a very simple game. Of the ten outfield players, all of them have to be able to control the ball and deliver an accurate pass. Currently we have two at the back who can’t do that and two up front who can’t do that. That’s early half a team who can’t do the basics. We’ve been beaten 3 times recently by teams who although they’re pretty average, have 10
players who can. Would Laudrup or Adkins pick Willo and Simpson?
I have little faith in Pardew and he probably will save us from the drop but my god it’s not pretty!

      (Quote)

  9. @B&B
Okay so when Everton fans wanted Moyes out were the board right to go against the “wisdom of the crowd”
There are two gaping flaws in your theory.
Firstly – statistics are objective. fans wanting a manager out isn’t statistically anything as their views are subjective. We statistically voted in the conservatives. Wisdom of the crowd my ****.
Moyes was still pretty unproven when he was at Everton, it took massive balls to keep him when they finished 17th, and it paid off.
Are you going to ignore the clean sheets and points tally actual stats of last year?
I would sack a manager if the club was in actual jeopardy. In reality there is no difference between 7th and 17th except we lose some money, i know people feel it would be harder to attract players but HBA/Tiote/Cabaye/Santon/Ba all beg to differ.
As long as we stay up, Pardew should stay.
Is this his first year in Europe? I’ve said it before, but I feel Europe has just as big an impact on managers and coaches as it does on playes. Pardew was known for meticulous planning last season, and know his time for each game his halved.

      (Quote)

  10. So Saylor out until feb then 🙄 Has he ever gone through an entire season unscathed?. This should be all the evidence Jabba needs that our defence needs sorting asap, we have a makeshift defence 90% of the season it seems ,not good enough for a PL team. It’s bad enough leaking goals when your scoring, when your not it’s a disaster .

      (Quote)

  11. You have to park Ashley’s transfer policy to one side, and judge Pardew on the tools at his disposal. Compare the way we have played from the start of this season and throughout with our potential. It seems a strange comment that Cisse, Ba, Ben Arfa, Colo and Krul have papered over the cracks. They are top players at Pardew’s disposal that other clubs, who are performing better than us, would love to have.

You say you don’t believe any manager we could attract could do any better. I don’t buy this business that NUFC cannot attract a good manager so much so that we have to end up with a manager with a **** c.v.

In answer to your question as to whether I would sack him now if I were in charge, the answer is yes. I would do what Ashley did and appoint my own man, except I would appoint someone with a track record of success not failure. I would then do my best to keep him long term. As a fan, I’m not in that position. As a fan, I can only hope that Pardew can prove me wrong and the rest of you right.

      (Quote)

  12. ST@235 you make valid points but I would ask how close to the bottom three should we be with say 4 games to go .If we are 2 points above the relegation zone with four left to play I would be really uncomfortable with that. I just hope we don’t get to that stage. In our relegation season we had to win on the last day and the muppets couldn’t even manage that ,I can only hope we are still in with as big a chance of survival on the last day of the current season.

      (Quote)

  13. @Kim
I just think unless we have someone with actual credentials set to come in then it would cause more problems and disarray.
I think Pardew is doing a terrible job this season, as are the team and the staff. but we aren’t a top 6 standard club yet, these runs are expected, we can’t sack every time this happens. We’ve done that before and look where it got us, bloated squad, basically no players the fans actually liked and relegation.
B&B but you can’t think of any examples?

      (Quote)

  14. Kim – we actually only needed a draw at Villa to stay up. That performance on Sunday was the worst I can remember for a very long time. Decades actually!

  15. Solano,

    Quite right,

I think Pard’s should be given to the end of the season. Do I think he can turn it around with biggish investment… No.
However, having said that, I think he is the major reason we are doing so poorly. His tactics have been pathetic, his comments about Ba etc. And his stubbornness is getting the better of him.

I actually don’t think he will get it right, but I think we will survive.

I still think he should be given to the end of the season because I don’t trust Ashley to replace his with anyone of any pedigree. So there would be no point.

      (Quote)

  16. ST, yes I’m quite prepared to give Pards time and hopefully he’ll get some badly needed backing and luck along the way too. But I’m wondering has he got the skill to bring us out this slump and how long do we wait until we get the bedsheets out ,what would you suggest out of interest. ❓

      (Quote)

  17. Strumpo – Where is your evidence that more than half of the Everton fans wanted “rid” of Moyes? Besides, you don’t want to hear my views on scousers! 😀 All I’m saying is fans aint fickle, especially not NUFC fans who know their football.

You say you would sack a manager if the club was in jeopardy. So you agree with my fan’s view then? That’s all I’m saying. I would call for his sacking if we were in jeopardy. If I actually owned the club, and was rich enough, I would sack him immediately and put my own man in. It’s only natural.

So you can see yourself calling for his head IF we look like strong relegation candidates? Its just that you don’t think we will be in that position. IF we are, how long are you going to leave it? You say, as long we stay up, Pardew should stay. This suggests you might give him enough time to see if we stay up. Or, you would take pre-emptive action like a fickle fan who has lost the faith?

The fact is that the reason so many managers only last a couple of seasons is that clubs pull the plug when the team looks as if its in jeopardy and heading for relegation. All I’m saying is this is an almost irresistible fact.

Which aisle are you in now? The grocery, fresh produce, tinned food ? You’re all over the shop. 😯

So I was right. You do want him sacked. That is why I was confused when you stated you hadn’t said as much. Your answers clearly implied it with saying those actual words.

I’m sure your short term memory loss is lengthening. 😯

Do you recall the saga we had trying to get a manager? I believe we had 5 or so in one season!
Nobody would touch us and Hughton was caretaker manager and ultimately got the job cos they couldn’t find anyone else.

You are right about most managers getting the sack after a short period. Could you tell us which manager you would choose who has a proven track record and hasn’t been sacked.? Bearing in mind, those managers normally have a choice of clubs they can manage. 😕

      (Quote)

  19. QPR, Southampton, sunderland and Wigan are all player better football than us and will probably pick up points in the near future.

We haven’t played well once this season and I honestly think its getting worse and worse. So I just don’t see where our next point is coming from.

I see us being in the bottom four by January. Only a change in tactics and recrruitement of some decent personal will change my view there.

Part of me would let him go all the way. It’s not all his fault, tactics are, but players movement, mistakes etc – it’s got to come from the players and the coaches as well. I know there’s a mythical “honeymoon” period but in our relegation season each manager we had was worse than the last. The idea of us sacking Pardew and noone wanting to come and us ending up with JK or Shearer gives me chills.
    @BB
How do I agree with your fans view? You said you would sack him now! The only teams in this league who seem to have got anywhere and whose fans seem happy are those that have stuck with their managers. Stoke have flirted with relegation on occasions but are no a Premiership staple.

At the end of the day I’m still so much happier than I was about 7 years ago. That’s because I know we have the potential to be better. get rid of DK, be a bit more adventurous in the transfer market, bit more adventurous in the transfer market, let Carr run amok in Europe once we get the TV revenue, we’ll be flying. Starting the managerial merry go round could see all that hard work deteriorate, if we have faith and survive this year intact we’ll be stronger mentally all round imo.
You are still yet to come up with ONE example of who you’d like!!

    Hmmm? 🙄

You are all over the shop. From the outset you repeatedly respond to my posts stating it was ridiculous to consider sacking Pardew now. The nature of your replies led me to believe you would sack him now.

When I accuse you of suggesting you have never said such a thing you deny it.

I then ask you to clarify your point of view and you state you would sack him now. Heaven forbid. 🙄

But you’re not all over the shop. 🙄

I’ll leave that to the fans to decide and not me as an individual. 🙄

  25. Strumpo – I knew that troy’s question would only lead to confusion. I said if I was in charge, i would sack him and appoint my own man. I’m wouldn’t invest my millions in someone else’s man unless I was 100% confident in him. Ashley didn’t do it. As a fan, I am not going to call for Pardew’s sacking now. However, I think he has got us in a mess and I have no faith that he can stop the rot. I also believe in statistics that show managers don’t last much longer than pards has lasted so far. At the moment Pards is right on course to confirm the statistics, and for all the same reasons that most managers have lost their jobs in the past.

As to who I would like, that is a whole new ball game. I haven’t looked at any other manager, but I am not one of those who thinks that in the whole of football we couldn’t attract a top manager with a proven record.

I know one thing. To give a manager an eight year contract is simply barmy. The tale of ridicule when we sack him is surely written on the wall. A classic NUFC farce waiting to unfold.

Another post goes by and B&B still fails to answer who he would appoint. 🙄

He has clearly forgot about the embarrassing situation we found ourselves in the last time we searched for a manager. On top of that, B&B would only accept one with a proven track record and hasn’t been sacked. 😛 😛

His judgement becomes more bizarre as we debate. Come on B&B. can you just give us one name and we will judge him on his record and whether we believe he would join us and work for an owner like Mikey. 😛

that’s the golden line “work for an owner like Mikey”, we’d all love a world class manager, but we have to realistic about who we could lure under this regime. Pards probably ranks near the top in that regard.
    @B&B
    sucks to your statistics.
What % of managers of the year have been sacked the following year?
What is the average length of a manager’s contract that takes over a newly promoted club and guides them to Europe?
You are construing a stat that has no bearing on our situation. Why does the 2 year thing matter in the slightest. Had we won the two home games would you still be saying the same?

      (Quote)

  31. If we went on to win our next 3 games ( we do have the ability to do that regardless of how unlikely it is at this moment ) all would be forgotten and nobody would mention sacking Pardew.

      (Quote)

  32. Have to say any talk of sacking Pardew is premature in my opinion. We have been down this road before of sacking managers the second we go on a bad run and it didnt end well. I think Pardew will turn it round, but only if he gives in and starts playing 433, if he continually plays the same useless system i will lose my patience, even if it means irking Ba and shunting him out wide, Pards really needs to step up now

      (Quote)

  33. Now Saylor is out for several months again. So it’s to be Willo and Colo unless one of them gets an injury or suspension in the next 7 or 8 games and then what? So do we have the correct amount of defensive depth Llambias? Did you do your job in the summer Derek? Did you get in what the manager asked for? I wonder if Pardew and Llambias speak to each other at all or is there any point to it from Pardew’s point of view? Ashley is where the buck finally stops so he will have to shoulder a lot of the blame if we finish in the bottom 6 this season after finishing in the top 5 last. This ownership group (Ashley/Llambias, I think the board has very little power and is filled with yes-men) is useless as far as football knowledge is concerned. We deserve to be where we are after last summer. Will things change much in the near future? I can’t see it.

      (Quote)

  34. IMO it is far too early to think of sacking Pards, yeah he has to take some blame for the state we’re in but so do the players for not giving their all, and the Regime for not strengthening the team.
I just cant see JFK doing any bette, actually he might even **** off more players as he seems to have the same attitude as lambastad.

      (Quote)

  35. If Ashley isn’t brave enough to get a decent manager in, not Joe Kinnear or another London chum then he should forget about sacking Pardew unless we fall into the bottom 3. Grow a set Ashley and get off your fat backside. We need leadership and commitment from the owner, meaning sack Llambias and try to repair the damage he has done to the team!!

      (Quote)

  36. With all the injuries how is Pardew now going to find enough players for both the league and Europa? I think he will have to field a very weak side against Bordeaux because we are already through to the next round and every league game is crucial now. Some of our younger players like Sammy and Ferguson will simply have to play quite a lot and perform well. The pressure is on the players, manager, and coaches for the games but our anger should mainly be reserved for our useless managing director and our penny-pinching clueless owner.

      (Quote)

  37. JT@260-Agreed.

I also don’t buy the whole “we’ve been dreadful all season.” Nonsense imo. We’ve been good in several games, we’ve had our fair share of good luck as well as our fair share of bad luck. No we haven’t been as good as we should have been enough of the time. To say we weren’t good/decent against Spurs, Everton, Liverpool, Scum, Bordeaux is bollocks imo. It’s only the recent performances that concerned me-most of all southampton. We were poor in the other two, but I remember many claiming Swansea would have 70% possession or that we’d be chasing the ball all game. We weren’t. They were clinical and we were not.

It would also be benificial for some of our overseas lads to hear the cold hard facts about life in the championship ,I’m thinking of Anita, Ba , Tiote ,Cabaye and Santon who havn’t experienced it like.

The EPL manager of the month award is given to successful managers, and Pardew has won it only once, and that was with West Ham. Looking at the list of multiple winners

    http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Premier_League_Manager_of_the_Month

If I was appointing someone else I wouldn’t be hamstrung for a yes man like Ashley. I would also do a lot of homework and research and conduct interviews. I see no reason why I should throw up names on here, but you can if you feel it’s a fair question.

I see what you are doing there. Very clever. Very very clever Monsieur. 😯

You want to sack Pardew now, yet we want to give him time to see if he can turn things round and attain a mid table position. So we ask you who you would replace him with. You very cleverly did something that I’ve seen before by you.

You ask us the same question. 😛 😛 😛

    Very very clever. 😛

One flaw in your plan B&B 😯

We hope it won’t be necessary as we are willing to give him time. We don’t think there is any point to sack him now as there aren’t any managers out there with a proven track record who hasn’t been sacked who would work under Mikey.

In reality we could choose any shmook really, cos that’s all we believe we can attract. Pards is probably the best of a bad bunch who were interested last time.

So the dilemma is back to you. We would like you to answer the question because if you could think of one that is convincing then you might have a chance to change our minds. 😉

  50. Troy – I notice how you now shift the debate to Pards’ replacement because you can’t back up your wild claims that I am all over the shop.

Both you and Strumpo envisage circumstances where you would sack the manager and yet you mock me because you believe “I” can’t suggest a replacement. I haven’t considered who I would appoint, and I’m not interested at this moment. If I were the owner, I would take at least a couple of weeks to weigh up the possible candidates and I would certainly hold interviews. If you feel it is a fair question, then by all means answer it yourself. I am sure everyone would be interested to hear your own thoughts.

I reckon the bloggers, with their extensive knowledge, could come up with loads of enticing possibilities. You, however, can only come up with the bizarre argument that, because, according to you, we had difficulty two years ago, we have little chance of finding anyone now. I suspect there’d be a crop of very good candidates who would jump at the chance, Mikey or not.

Strumpo – You suggest Pards can defy history and statistics by pointing to his record last year. It brings to mind the old adage that you’re only as good as your last game. Nobody gives a ***** what happened last year if we fall into the bottom three this year, especially if Pardew continues to suggest he has lost the confidence of the players. You’re naïve to think otherwise.

  51. Kim-It was fortunate, but one of the few things that have gone against WBA this season. Not that I’m saying they don’t deserve it, they’ve played well-but an undeserved penalty against the Scum arguably got them all 3 points. We did well enough against a good outfit and we’ve had our fair share of bad deflections-like the one that relegated us 😆

People have pointed to Everton as well….well, the ref pulled back a counter where we’d have probably had 3v the keeper to even up one decision. Anita also had a shot cleared off the line in that match…some people only want to see the bad, that’s my point.

  52. Agree about Derren Brown though. Maybe we should keep it simpler and hypnotise our poor championship players like Simpson into believing they’re Premiership players 😯

I’ve explained how you are all over the shop. 🙄
Do you not read my posts? 😛

The debate has moved on to Pards because that is what the debate is about. 😯

So just answer our question. Who would you replace Pards with.? I don’t see how we can move on from here unless you do. 😉

  54. Troy ,if it really goes tits up and we are looking down the barrel ,how about going for Steve Clark ,he seems to have the Baggies doing alright. I know there would be compo to pay but speculate to accumilate I say.

    @Kim

B &B stated we should appoint someone with a track record and indicated Pards had been sacked previously so therefore why appoint him in the first place.

What has Steve Clark achieved to date?

My point is, I don’t rate Pardew as a top manager. His record is not great. But it was an embarrassing shambles for the club last time we tried to attract a manager. If we sacked Pardew now, it would look even less attractive to potential candidates.
Pardew was the best of a bad bunch. Because of his fantastic performance last year, LMA winner, 5th in the league, qualification for Europe, for me, allows Pardew time to see if he can turn things round.

It’s B&B who wants him sacked now , yet he won’t give me one candidate to replace him with.

We sacked Chris Hughton who had a fantastic record at the Toon based on the difficult conditions he worked under.

I don’t believe we have much choice. Any new manager won’t get a budget to change things. It will be sell before you buy.

All I’m asking is for B&B to give us some candidates we could consider. I can’t think of any who would be any better than what we have.

  59. What statistics?! fans wanting him sacked isn’t statistics. I’ve answered every point you’ve raised, each point I’ve made you’ve ignored. bored with this now.
Christ if you’re only as good as your last game wenger, moyes etc would all be gone. Not to mention our first team. should we be looking to move on all our first team that have been ****?!

    Totally agree. 😉

You will notice that he answers with questions.
It’s a common theme with him.

He will also accuse you of not answering his questions, despite you doing so time and time again. 🙄

He’s an utter nightmare. It’s mindblowing how he sees things. 😯

    Skew whiff 😛

  61. Troy – No I did not say I wanted him sacked now. You asked me a question about what I would do if I was the owner. That is completely hypothetical. If I was the owner, I would put my own man in straightaway, and inject £200 million of my £20 billion fortune. Would anyone argue with that?

Strumpo – What was your answer to my question as to whether you would sack him pre-emptively if it looked as if he had lost the dressing room and we were relegation condidates? How long will you leave it? Will you let him take us down and continue to back him to get us back up? If not, who do YOU suggest we appoint? Do you agree that we can’t get anyone better anyway based on our previous experience?

  62. Mark – As I’ve said I haven’t contemplated it, but I can’t believe in the whole world and for the right money, there wouldn’t be a crop of good candidates for the job. I’ve also said that I bet fellow bloggers could come up with a few food names. Are you saying we couldn’t get a top manger then?

      (Quote)

  63. Troy@290 Well he’s credited with playing a big part in Chelseas 2 pl titles ,2 league cups and FA cup win. Also Liverpools Lcup win ,whilst on the coaching staff. In fact Chelsea turned down his resignation when he wanted to join West Ham with Zola in charge and the clubs went on to agree compo . He is regarded as one of the best coaches around and has certainly got off to a flyer with West Brom ,though I agree early days yet. They are playing entertaining football though compared to us. Sorry for late reply was bathing Lew. Not saying sack Pards like ,but you asked for suggestions and he just popped into me head like.

  64. @B&B

yes, I’m saying Ashley wouldn’t attract a good manager with caliber as managers with nothing to prove would demand cash and guarantees.

That’s why we’ve had newbies like Shearer, CH, and puppets like Kinnear and to an extent Pardew.

The only manager who had a decent record was KK, but he walked once he understood who he was working for.

I’d consider ourselves quite lucky to still have Pards considering the **** hes took since being here.

    Any names then??

    @B&B

I started this debate, criticising those who were wanting Pardew sacked now.
You joined in and all your responses led me to believe you were one of those that thought he should be.
The debate lasted many hours and nothing swayed me to believe otherwise throughout.

You stated you didn’t have any confidence in his ability, had a poor track record and didn’t expect him to get us out of this mess.

When I challenged you, who you would replace him with, you stated you didn’t want him sacked now.

That surprised me as it sounded like you were in the same boat as me. It suggested to me that you now would give him time to turn things around which is what I had been saying throughout.

To clear this up, I then asked you a hypothetical question whether you would sack him now if you were in charge. You then said you would.

At this point I felt your argument was all over the shop.

I’m sorry if this seems a strange conclusion for me to take but that is the logical way I think.

    You then clarify your position above and state;
Troy – No I did not say I wanted him sacked now. You asked me a question about what I would do if I was the owner. That is completely hypothetical. If I was the owner, I would put my own man in straightaway, and inject £200 million of my £20 billion fortune. Would anyone argue with that?

Can I take this opportunity to inform you that your hypothetical answer was bordering on childish.

Where did you get the £20bn fortune from? If you had £20bn, I don’t think for a second if any owner had £20bn they would have Pardew at the helm. 🙄 they would have the best manager on the world and all the best players.

It would be obvious to a sensible person that my question meant, if you were Ashley, with his wealth and owner of the club in the current circumstances.

I find you very difficult to debate with because of your propensity to swerve and fail to answer honestly.

We are all still waiting for you to name some candidates that have proven track records and haven’t been sacked and would be willing to work under Mikey and his policies.
