“It Is A Good Club And St James’ Park Is A Monumental Stadium”

Long term target.
Long term target.
Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang has stated he would like a move to England this summer and has recognised Newcastle’s interest by calling us ‘a good club’. The Saint Etienne striker is in high demand and certainly isn’t short of admirers.

Russian giants Anzhi Makhachkala allegedly lodged a €20million bid for the player this week, which was reportedly accepted by Saint Etienne. It has also been rumoured that Newcastle had a bid of €18million rejected shortly before Anzhi submitted their offer for the 24 year old. However it would seem that the player himself would prefer a move to The Premier League and has opened the door to a potential move to Tyneside. The Gabon international told reporters:

“I will choose England before any other destination.

“My dream has always been to play in one of the top two leagues in the world.

“Newcastle is a good club and St James’s Park is a monumental stadium where there is passionate fans.”

Newcastle have been linked with a host of strikers over the last few weeks, with names such as Wilfred Bony, Darren Bent and Andre-Pierre Gignac to name a few. Director of Football Joe Kinnear and Mike Ashley understand the importance of adding more fire power over the summer and have prioritised a striker. I don’t like The Mirror, but in their version of the Aumbameyang story they say Joe Kinnear is desperate to get signings over the line in order to prove his worth to the fans. It’s hard to disagree with that really, if Kinnear was able to bring Aumbameyang to Newcastle it would be a real coup.

It had been reported that Newcastle had launched a bid for Ivorian Wilfred Bony, but with the striker looking set for a move to Swansea it seems as if we will look elsewhere. Aumbameyang has been a long term target for the club, but with so much interest in the player and with the price tag on his head it was a deal that maybe looked out of reach. If Newcastle can follow their interest up with an acceptable bid then it is a real possibility that we can get him over the line. As long as we act quickly of course!

Newcastle seems to be an attractive option for a player that wants to play his football in England. It is only a good thing that he has spoken about the club in such a positive manner. Sky Sports are reporting that the striker is currently on holiday and we can expect a bit more clarity on his future when he returns.

Maybe a bit too early to get excited and obviously I won’t jump the gun. The player could be using our interest to encourage other teams to look at the situation. But maybe just maybe he could be in a black and white jersey next season?! What do you think

  1. Ice ,If you look at PEA’S market value it’s set at £13m or 15m euro but the club are after 17.5m euro or £15m . Jabba would never pay over the market value , I could possibly see him going to £12/13m but never £15m . Thing is when clubs like Anzhi start throwing bids of £17m around it sours the cream as very few can compete with that. It’s important that we keep in mind this guy is untested at PL level and so anything over £12m is a huge gamble.

  2. I can’t remember if i posted earlier or not…but why sell Perch, and so cheaply? He’s not the hero some sections have made him out to be but crikey, cover across the back line and midfield in the form of a cheap, likeable englishman? Sounds like Mike Ashley’s kind of man. There are worse squaddies out there that could do with replacing in terms of quality…like Jonas.

On the plus side this should hopefully mean more game time for Anita and in the future, Bigi. All the best to him should he go.

  3. so JFK is wanting a signing before friday 😀 before he goes on his holidays 😯 fuk I thought he just came back after a 4 yr holiday 🙄

  4. Dave-the signing he is after is KK’s autograph, he wants something to remember him by, after all he was Kinnear’s first signing for us when he was here in the 80s… 😎

  5. Newkie 😯 jez I forgot all about that 😆 😆 I just can’t believe he needs a holiday, or maybe he’s going on one so that Pards can come back and give an interview 😀

  6. I’ve just tuned back in after being out tonight and haven’t read any comments.

But I was searching the Internet and came across this interview on sky sports with Steve Wraith talking about the resignation of Derek Llambias.

I have to say, apart from Big Dave 😉 , and though I’ve spoke to him on many occasions, he’s not my friend or close associate, Steve Wraith has the most balanced view over the Ashley era, on NUFC, , sorry apart from me, that I’ve heard from anyone.

Every time I hear his point of view I agree with him and he puts it across eloquently.

I know he’s a hated figure amongst many on here but I put that down to either ignorance, lack of foresight or plain blind faith in all things NUFC.

For me, every statement he makes on NUFC hits the nail on the head.

Well done Steve. Spot on! 😉

  7. JFK is going to the Whoopsie aisle of the supermarket. See what’s on special offer or in other words ‘past its sell by date’.

    Good luck Joe.

think that dude took offence to being called an idiot on that other blog lmao 😈

  9. William Vainqueur has signed a new contract with Standard Liege after initially terminating his contract. Signs until 2016. 😯

Maybe Kinnear has called his name w*nk*r during contract negotiation. 😆 😳

  10. Toon TRW, he heard that the toon wanted to sign him and thought “shit give me that new contract” and signed it pdq.

Looks like everyone else has cottoned on to the toons cunning trick of signing players from France. Everybody’s in on it now 🙂 I wonder what our plan B is ?

  11. I see Joe is now saying he’s the most qualified director of football in England.

He also apparently won every award there is to win as a player.

Why is this man not spoken about as a legend of the game. He should be up their with Messi, Pele, Maradona, Ferguson.

  12. Kim,
I always wanted more communication with the club.

But all this idiot does is blow smoke up his own arse. He must have some sort of mental disorder to be able to lie and believe his own garbage.

  13. PEA has just tweeted

@Aubameyang7: Aéroport de Barcelone > Destination unknown

He’s on his way to the toon 🙂

  14. how can the players work with this guy!! the mans a nut case theres people locked up for less sorry but pardew must be as bad if hes putting up with this guy,or its a ploy to get pardew out,one thing for sure i just cannot get my head round it or maybe its me thats gone round the bend 😕

  15. Troy I think Wraith speaks a lot of sense and I agree with most of what he say’s and I have no doubt that he knows a lot more about the happenings at the Toon than most fans.
I still dont think we have seen the worst of JFK there will be a lot more shit etc from him

  16. @Ice the man is basically that rambling old drunk in the corner of the pub. Every now and then someone feels pity and humours him, but that just makes him believe his delusions even more.
Surely the blog is now unanimous in thinking that Pardew is the best man we could have given the circumstances ❓

  17. ST well to be honest mate i think there some legs in poyet storey,i could be well off the mark but sumit isnt right there, would “you” put up with all that crap

  18. I see Norwich are now linked heavily with Redmond ,Hoots has just been singing his praises on SSN. I dunno first they get RVW now looks like Redmond. Honestly at what £2m is it ,we should be going in for him 👿

  19. Ice ,Really ,it’s gone up from last week then 😯 Bit much that ,but that’s what happens if it’s an English lad . 🙄

  20. The on goings in the coaching and board department at NUFC have made me lose interest in any signings that we might make.
I simply don’t see us getting the best out of them anyway. I feel sorry for any player coming in because its such a mess.
Can you imagine JK being the type of character that can sell a club to a foreign player?
Anyone in sales/marketing knows how massively important first impressions are… Especially things like getting the guys name right!
Then selling the club with facts… Not lies.

I can’t see any player in their right mind wanting to come to the Toon. I wouldn’t blame any top player that wanted out either.

  21. JJ @554 , Sadly I think you could well be right .

I see Samba back to Anzhi then for £12m ,how lucky is Harry to get back most what they paid for him.

  22. Interesting that Pardew’s stock rises higher every time JFK opens his mouth. Pretty soon we’ll all be pleading for him to come back.

  23. JK over 200 appearances scoring 2 league goals.

Won every award there is to win as a player. Except of course for a league championship or the Champions League.

Of course, he has been in management for 35 years. But he has won absolutely nothing in that time with any club.

  24. Hey there I am so glad I found your website, I
