Game On! Norwich v Newcastle

Magpies take on Canaries
Magpies take on Canaries
Good evening all. Just a quick article here to take you through the clash with Norwich this evening.

Why is it quick? Well because I’m slaving away at work once more so haven’t had much time to get anything done recently but hopefully the game tonight will give you all enough to talk about anyway and the relative shortness of this article will not be noticed much.

I’ve gone into the fixture in more detail in the match preview which you can view here including injury news for both sides, a history of the fixture and some fun facts and stats for you to run your eyes over. Please take some time to have a look if you haven’t already done so.

The game itself is not being shown live here in the UK but will be broadcast on a number of overseas channels so hopefully picking up a stream won’t be too much of an issue. I suspect it might be though so if you do happen to stumble across a stable stream then please share it with your fellow fans and post a link to it in the ‘comments’ section below.

Early team news has been touched upon in the previously linked match preview but for official team news please check the bottom of this article roughly one hour before kick-off where you should find it in all of its glory.

Howay the lads!

  1. Cheers MM got one.

On Draxler i agree he is going to be a massive star where ever he ends up. Have Arsenal agreed a deal for him?

That Schalke team has some quality players like wouldn’t mind borrowing a few.

@lee_ryder doesn’t sound like Grenier fancies the move?

  3. This Grenier deal isn’t dead yet… Lyon may still be in the Champions League, but they won’t last that long, and his dream will have ended. He will get a huge pay increase to sign for the toon, I’m sure of that…
Cross our fingers and hope it comes off…

    by the way…whisper…is he any good ? 😳 😳 😆 😆

  4. Santii / Kimmy…..

Draxler is brilliant, and Schalke 04 have a few brilliant bairns coming through… Max Meyer and Leon Goretzka, both only 18 and both absolutely brilliant….

The flip side is Stoke are potentially one game nearer to relegation. I don’t think anyone will need 40 points this season, 37 could be enough.

  6. Ice any player that would get a big pay increase out of it so probably most players in Ligue 1 and Eredivisie

  7. Kimmy we’ve got no chance of getting our mits on those two 🙁 Even with the legendary Joe Kinnear beavering away in the background 🙄 😳

  8. Would love Leon Goretzka i think he is probably the best of the 3 that you mentioned mm

what about papadapoulous (?) how has he been this year?

  9. Watching the Man City v Spurs game on BT sports. Same clowns that officiated us v City. They have chalked of a perfectly good goal offside for Spurs and now have given a pen and sent off Rose for a brilliant last ditch tackle.
What a disgrace these 3 are.

  10. looks like 24 hours wasted on Grenier. Just got a funny feeling their might not be a replacement for Cabaye by Friday

  11. Santii @463, spot on there. I have seen a bit of Goretzka this year and the bloke is brilliant, also a really sensible lad, even at 17 he was holding interviews like a seasoned pro…

Papadapoulous as you know Santii is a young Greek defender, an absolute colossus, but he’s been injured all season. Liverpool were quoted 30 million pounds for him… will be the Greek captain for the next 15 years…also brilliant..

  12. Sharpy
Marriner didn’t ref us against City. It was Jones.
Are they really the same assistants

  13. Munich – I’m only joking of course mate. Reckon he could be another cult hero like his big bro.

Lets be fair, if Lyon choose to keep Grenier or he chooses to stay then who can blame it. They are 5th in the Ligue and still in the CL so clearly won’t want to loose they best players as I think top 3 is CL and 4th is Europa so they are still in the mix.
Likewise for Grenier, he still has goals with Lyon – when our season is fighting to retain 8th spot.
Maybe in the Summer, but if not then Siem De Jong would be a great 2nd option

  14. I thought Sammyobi played canny against Norwich. He was too tricky for them at times and even got a few crosses in. 😛

      (Quote)

  15. DJG – he played really well but his fitness let him down, which is a shame coz he’s not a 90min player at the moment, but the boy did good I thought.
We were really unlucky not to win really – both posts and the crossbar helping Norwich out. The first one pissed me off a bit coz if that was us it would have hit the post, deflected off Kruls back and went in 👿

  16. Now is the time too solve all our striking problems and move for Finnbogasson 10 million would definatly get him maybe 8 would be enough . His trainer Marco Van Basten has announced he is leaving the club end of the season .

      (Quote)

  17. Axel – I’d take him in a heart beat, but £10m is steep isn’t it mate?.
What’s the craic with every ****** wanting to leave in the summer like?!

      (Quote)

  18. SHARPY Strikers always fetch top dollar but we could offset the cost by selling Cisse their seems to be a fair bit of interest in him ,if we get 6 to 8 million for him that would help .

      (Quote)

  19. So Cabaye is away and it looks like our 2 main strikers arnt even our own, we are really starting to reap the rewards of Jabba and JFK brilliant running of our club.
I wonder if we’ll buy a replacement for Cabs or will we just loan one as that would be the cheaper way and save money

      (Quote)

  20. Axel mate, you’re the man on all things cloggy. What do you make of Finnbogasson, is he as good as Bony ? Is he as good as De Jong ?

      (Quote)

  21. MUNICH MAG Finnbogasson is the real deal he is better than both of them but also a different type of striker De Jong is a target man and i honestly think he will fit in at the Toon . Boney is more explosive and Finnbogasson can in many ways be likend to Andy Cole the lad is a goal machine and would be worth a 8 too 10 million investment .I know its the eredivisie that he plays in but he is a cut above any other striker in Holland and his trainer Marco Van Basten has tipped him for the very top .
