Don’t look now!

Well it’s fair to say that yesterday should be the final nail in Steve McClaren’s coffin. I think that has to be the single worst performance for a must win game I have ever seen. The day we got relegated we played with more heart than that and that’s saying something.

From the moment the team selection came out it had defeat and surrender written all over it. Quite why he started with Emmanuel Riviere – who has shown nothing to warrant a start – I will never understand. With him there was no chance. With the inconsistent Ayoze Perez (as Steve put it) there was at least that chance – and score he did. It was a beauty, set up with a class pass from Jon Jo Shelvey.

Apparently there is a meeting between Charnley and Ashley set for today. We can only hope common sense prevails and the nice but lost Grin Reaper that is Steve Mcclaren is hooked because quite simply, this cannot go on.

I was never Alan Pardew’s fan but he suffered the hate mob long before Steve McClaren has and whilst in a far better position too. Like Pardew and John Carver before him McClaren seems unable to get a decent tune out of the team. Even more worrying is a lot of the players didn’t even look interested yesterday with the exception of Shelvey, Steven Taylor, and Rob Elliot.

Credit though to Perez and Aleksander Mitrovic who tried to rescue us when they came on. That we are relying on two youngsters to pull us out the mire when we have experienced internationals not pulling their weight tells you how bad the malaise at the club is.

Shearer was spot on with his summary on last nights match of the day; ‘we are a shambles from top to bottom’. Mike Ashley simply must act and right now or we are down for sure. Don’t look now Mr Ashley, but relegation is staring you right in the face. Again.

  1. My last comment was facetious because the whole setup has been manipulated by Carr and Charnley with Ashley somehow being conned. I agree with ToonBano to a certain extent that McClaren is masquerading as a manager when he is really a coach but Carr is the real conman.

  2. I’m worried that by Hall saying Ashley should sack Schteve, Ashley will dig his heels in and be stubborn.

  3. Carr’s French/Dutch/Belgian football Agency is Mondial and we have signed about 10 of the players they have on their books.

  4. According to Twitter McClaren is enjoying a pub lunch in York somewhere. He’s either not been invited to the board meeting or there isn’t one happening.

  5. So, basically Carr has signed all of his players until this January from the Mondial Sports Agency and those connected with Schteve McClaren (Twente and Forest). He then convinces Charnley to go after McClaren himself after Pardew resigns. When McClaren doesn’t bite, they decide that they will wait until the summer and not do a real search and instead appoint Ugly John hoping McClaren will have a change of heart later. Both Ugly John and Schteve are a disaster in the ensuing months but Carr is fixated with Schteve and wants to add to his power. Charnley is the stooge in all of this. Duped by Carr, who contrary to what Toon-Bano thinks is the real conman.

  6. Stuart: he still has a house in Yorkshire from his Boro days and he is from Yorkshire.

  7. There is always the possibility that there’s an embargo on the news until tomorrow’s papers are going to print, or am I just being optimistic?

  8. Even if we get another manager in we must get rid of Carr asap. As **** as McClaren maybe we can’t allow Carr to pin all the blame on him.

      (Quote)

  9. It has finally clicked. Charnley is the stooge and Carr is Machiavelli. Although Carr should have chosen better partners than Schteve and Mondial.

It also shows that Carr wasn’t really doing much scouting after all since he got most of our players from ONLY 2 sources.

  10. What time is this so called meeting between Ashley and charnley to decide mcclaren future?

  11. Shamrock: I will put my Carr conspiracy theory into an article if you want adding more facts to back it up. Send me an e-mail as I have lost your e-mail address. Hopefully, you can find a picture of Carr and Machiavelli to put side by side.

  12. Got to act tonight haven’t they? They can’t have him taking training tomorrow if they’re going to sack him surely? If he takes training then that’s him staying, probably because they couldn’t persuade anybody to take the job.

  13. No news is good news 😯

They could be discussing potential candidates before sacking SM

If they are unavailable then they might stick with the ginger grinner.

If we hear nowt by Tueday, I reckon he’s staying

  14. I can’t wait to read your Carr conspiracy Eric. I hope he leaves with McClaren. All his existing french player’s and not forgetting the dutch seem below average in the premiership. Lascalles and Darlow either.

  18. I am just glad people are now seeing the fraud that is Graham Carr. Been calling him out for years and repeatedly told he is a top scout and his signings fail because of bad management but now people are seeing the truth.

The guy is as shifty as Ashley with his insider brown bag deals from the same agency. The guy is a cancer at the club.

  19. I like our chances against Leicester. They’ve overplayed their hand. Now their due a right thumping. Our brand of working our way into the corners and then passing back all the way to goal will completely bamboozle them. They’ll be expecting “normal” football. Well, they’ll not get that from us. I’ll guarantee it!

      (Quote)

  20. Yes, I’m just being my normal self Terry mate! We’re ready to take charge now. The stars are aligned properly and we’re ready to go on a long run of success. Starting with Leicester. Thank God we hung on to McLaren when he was in such huge demand!

  21. Charnley spoke up for Carver a few times last season & He hasn’t done that yet…

Moyes is a good fit for Newcastle, The most surprising thing is that Ashley has recognised that and approached him twice before.

  22. The fact that McClown praised Colback for his performance yesterday is a good enough reason to sack him.
The man is seriously insane and needs medical help

  24. A new manager would get some breathing time. The players could settle down and focus instead of being distracted by the presence of McLaren. I’ve wanted him out for ages. This is the last real chance to give him the boot. Bring in Benitez and watch what happens.

  25. We should all be excited Terry! This is wor time now! This is where Benitez steps in and we let rip!

  26. G2 that’s the spirit mate. Someone’s got to keep faith in McClaren. Carr should also send you a signed t-shirt of in Carr we trust. I’d probably burn it or sell it to someone on here for a pound 😆

Good point, if they were to stick with him they might have said so…but on the other hand, when have they ever been quick with supplying info? they dont need to.

  28. Ta Terry. I’m keeping up the good work. I’m also pressing hard to get Pardew appointed as England manager! Step down Roy! You’ve had your chance. Let an expert do it now!!!!

  29. A rebuild will take years. Under the right owner. Under Ashley it’s pointless. He would just hire another imbecile to run things into the ground again. His last chance at the club is over now. If we survive sell up Ashley. If we go down, sell up for less Ashley. You must know it yourself by now. You are the Football Fool Mike. Put your Fool’s clothing on and go entertain you friends.

      (Quote)

  30. G2: not that exciting mate. I already said most of it. Just wanted to put it into one coherent article. I am not bothering to write it until I hear back from Shamrock with some place to send it (I lost his e-mail address).

But, I have made notes so can bash it out in an hour 🙂

      (Quote)

  31. Well all right then Eric mate. I suppose I’ll have to wait. I’m just sitting thinking about what it would take to rebuild the club now. The shambles is shocking. From what I’ve heard the youth team and reserves are a shambles as well. We still can’t keep players fit and we still have no decent transfer policy in place. We’ve wasted much of the last 80M spent on players as well. The main assets remaining are the ground and the supporters. There are at least 5 or 6 players who could be sold off and the money used for more incoming but we must have proper management in place first. That means Charnley, Carr and McLaren sacked along with the board. Get them all out. None of this will happen with Ashley in as owner so it all comes down to him selling up.

      (Quote)

  32. Toby…Cheers  (for the yes)

Mark…Stop trying to snatch that little bit of hope from me 😥

  33. G2: I am not sure if Charnley was on the board last year BUT Carr, Moncur and Schteve were not.

Ashley, and the John Irvine resigned and let Carr, McClaren and Moncur take over on June 10. They had full control.

If anybody thinks that McClaren didn’t know who we were signing then they need their head examined. There is no way that McClaren isn’t a co-conspirator with Carr in all of this. He was sounded out by Carr and knew the sigh-nings, just like Ugly John did.

      (Quote)

  34. They’re all equally to blame for me. All need sacking. Every one of them including Carr. Their time is up. They are complete and utter failures the lot of them. Nobody would keep that lot on as employees. Ashley wouldn’t let them sell his rags. Complete disaster for the club. I’ve lost all respect for Moncur as well.

      (Quote)

  35. G2: also, I have just figured out today that this is all Graham Carr’s doing (I am a bit slow) but will lay it out in more detail. Hopefully we will have a new manager with the balls to stand up to Carr so what I say/said will just be a whinge and we can move forward.

      (Quote)

  36. Hard days ahead no matter what happens. With Ashley, chances are we’ll make the wrong move, such as retaining McLaren. Ashley has been hopeless from the start. Don’t expect miracles now.

      (Quote)

  37. Nah G2: Carr wanted Schteve as Manager. He wanted Twente in Newcastle. He thought that was the blueprint to get a Champions League place.

He bought Tiote from Twente and went after Douglas, Luuk de Jong and Brian Ruiz. I don’t know if you remember who Brian Ruiz is but he is the Costa Rican who had dumbo ears that we tried to get from the clasp of Fulham on deadline day a few years ago.

All Twente, all Mclaren and Carr.

Then there are the Mondial Agency recruits. All of these were under their Management:

    Cabaye
    Sissoko
    Mitrovic
    Thauvin
    Debuchy
    Ben Arfa
    Cabella
    Saivet
    Riviere

Carr-Crash has done **** all scouting and has listened to a Sports Agency for players, recruited FC Twenty players and has been chasing McClaren like he was a fat Granny in Wayne Rooney’s ***** house.

I will write this up as I figure most wont read it unless it is an article.

      (Quote)

  38. Ryder saying they are going to make a decision within the next 24 hours and he could yet get a stay of execution! He’s told Charnley he wants a chance to put it right. That’s ok, but the decision is Charnleys and it will be his fault of we go down as he could have change this many times.

Personally I think it’s looking less and less likely that he will be sacked.

      (Quote)

  39. Carr forgot that Schteve and his cronies (Blackie etc) had been serial failures after McDope’s first stint at Twente:

    Wolfsburg
    Twente again
    Forest
    Derby

  40. Stuart, mate: if Charnley doesn’t realise he has been manipulated by Carr then he is a fucking idiot. As you said earlier – Keep McClaren, get relegated. Sack McClaren, at least we have a chance

If he takes training tomorrow morning then the chance of him going are slim

We’ll find out by 10 tomorrow, I personally can’t see why they’d keep him unless the alternatives are not available.

      (Quote)

  43. Just sack him. We have a bit less than 2 weeks until the Mackems and Leicester is a throw away at this point.

The players can probably do with a break from McClaren’s constantly changing approaches and can certainly do with a break from the Motivational Speaker I would guess.

  44. And sum it up, none of the players knew anything about this statement yesterday either. Some would say it’s funny, I would say it’s just another example of the club and their ridiculous PR! Berahino bid anyone…

  45. Stuart: because McClaren was Carr’s man and everything was built around that and Carr’s relationship with Mondial. McClaren goes, Carr has no credibility, no job, no fiefdom.

The approach for McClaren last January, the Ugly John interim appointment, the waiting for McClaren until he was sacked.

Charnley is a pawn in this.

Yes, it turns out it was really auto-aspthyxiation with a carrot up his ****.
