  1. Thanks for thread mate,I think Rafa might change the defence a wee bit for this game and go three at the back and strengthen the midfield up and find a place for Jong just behind the striker, getting goals is a problem I worry about,we start the game with a point so let’s at least keep that and hope for better

  2. No worries – glad to see de Jong back, I’d be wary of playing three at the back though – Norwich have plenty of pace out wide and we might look a bit suspect unless you were going to do a 3-5-2 wing backs.

  3. ANDY. Of coarse I expect Rafs to use wing backs Siko will be one of them,Rafa has used this tactic in the past, with a bit success but can the players we have be good enough to carry it out remains to be seen

  4. I think Rafa has to try de Jong. We have to get goals from somewhere as we have less than a goal a game. 29 from 30. We are crying out for someone to latch on to Mitro’s layoffs and chest-downs and much as I like Perez he is not scoring enough. Same with Sissoko, looks good but not scoring or assisting.

Sometimes the stats do not lie and Rafa should mix it up a bit. Keep Cisse in reserve for now.

  5. Well, I like the look of De Jong, reckon he’ll come good for us. He’s had rotten luck with injuries but when fully fit I reckon he’ll be fine. Seems an intelligent player who isn’t afraid of the ball.

  6. I think we look more potent with De Jong on the pitch. He seems to make himseld available in tje dight areas and draws defenders away before playing a simple pass to an attacking position. No fancy tricks, just reads the game well. I agree Perez is not producing enough at the moment, but I do like his willingness to muck in with defensive work. Trouble is, we need goals. lots of them…

  7. I think everybody is in agreement:

    1. Support Darlow even though he was ***** against WBA.

    2. Mix it up a bit because we have to do something and de Jong is the obvious move.

    3. Beat Norwich or we are almost doomed.

    4. John Gibson’s picture in his Chronicle articles is circa 1989.

And still John Gibson uses the same picture.

  9. Great to see Rafa getting the players back in this afternoon for more training,he’s had Gibson the 18yr old left back training with the first team all week in fact nearly played him at Leicester, will Rafa give him a chance??

      (Quote)

  10. Think he’ll trust Gibson Ice? That’d be Darlow, Lascelles and Gibson with about 10 starts between them. I think he’ll go with Anita there and I’d agree with that. They need someone to look after Hoolahan though. He’s their playmaker type and needs keeping quiet. It’s two **** teams though that’s for sure and they might both go down.

  11. GEORGIO the one I really worry about is their right winger Remond he’s very fast and with our poor full backs he could cause us all sorts of problems,I think we looked to sign him at one point but Rafa is said to have watched Norwich on vids a few times so hopefully he has it Sussed

      (Quote)

  12. Is Redmond not injured or is he back? He got injured against City but didn’t know whether he was back. Hope not!

  14. Actually scratch that he’s apparantly made rapid progress, Has an outside chance but likely too soon

      (Quote)

  15. Redmond is not one I really worry about. Even if he plays Anita is very fast too. Our main problem all season is lack of goals. Can’t understand it when we’ve scored some stunning goals. How Gini has gone about 15 away games and not notched is beyond my understanding.
Bad luck has also dogged us all season but maybe that was McClarens and Rafa is luckier! Fat Sam definitely is.

I reckon that’s the line up to go with too, but will he drop sissy ❓

      (Quote)

  17. Well, we did put 6 past them previously so we know we can beat them so the players should have no fear.

      (Quote)

  18. Play Cisse FFS at least his proved he can score more than 1 goal per game that’s more than Perez and Mitrovic have accomplished.

      (Quote)

  19. Cisse’s a finisher, get the service to him and he’ll do the rest. We are putting to much pressure on Mitrovic and Perez and you can tale there struggling. Not there fault adjusting to a more difficult league.

      (Quote)

  20. CC: I doubt that Sissoko will be dropped mate. I think Perez will be on the bench instead. Apart from that I think your team will be the one that Rafa picks.

  21. I have to say that a defeat tomorrow will mean relegation. We would be 6 points off safety and confidence would be completely shattered.

It truly is a must not lose!

      (Quote)

  22. I have a feeling he might play Sissoko at left back tomorrow and play Perez, De Jong and Townsend behind Mitro.

      (Quote)

  23. Stuart: that would be interesting and I would probably go along with it because it is Rafa. If Pards or Ugly John tried it I would say they were batshit crazy, mainly because I didn’t trust their judgement.

      (Quote)

  24. As I said earlier I think it could be three at the back with wing backs Siko being one of them

  25. It is April Fool’s Day. I remember in school that a teacher sent a couple of gullible kids to the Metalwork class to get a “bucket of sparks” and to Home Ec to get “left handed cups”.

      (Quote)

  26. Kimtoon: I hadn’t heard that one 🙂 My favourite is definitely a bucket of sparks because I could just imagine the metalwork teacher at the lathe showing them exactly where to put the bucket in order to catch the maximum number of sparks.

  28. Icedog, hope you are keeping well bonny lad.
Fear the worst for the weekend mate, too many lightweights cheating the black and white stripes.

  29. Ice: I don’t even go to the South side of Chicago. It is probably East St. Louis you are talking about in terms of violence. Lots of Gangs like the South side of Chicago.

Chicago is a strange city. I have never even seen a bar fight and have lived here 26 years. I go back to London and see 2 in 1 night. Then there are 20 shootings on the South side in one night.

  30. ERIC,glad your in a safe place, such a big country,I was once offered a good job over there a manger of medium sized company in the orange state good wages car ect,but one of my kids was in the later stages of exams bad timing for me

  31. Icedog: I worked in Florida for a few months mate. Too bloody hot for me. Give me the Golden State every time.

  33. So, Rafa is going to play Sissoko at left back. That’s a big gamble but nothing else has worked for us for a couple of years so why not 🙂

      (Quote)

  34. I see Carver has applied for the Villa job. Please Randy Lerner be dumb enough to give him it. You employed McLeish so why not Carver. You can get a couple of references from his biggest fans – Lee Ryder and Troy Stavers.

      (Quote)

  35. I think Lee Clark might also put in an application as I am sure Villa will be looking at failed Huddersfield, Birmingham and Blackpool managers as top of their list.

The Kilmarnock Clarky-O-Meter currently stands at won 0, drew 1, lost 5.

      (Quote)

  36. You are comedy gold Troysta:

    – Troy loves Pards
    – Carver did a good job and kept us up 🙂 🙂 🙂
    – Clarky to the Toon 🙂
    – England to win the Euros
    – Troy mentioned Rafa in passing 5 years ago and now says he knew we would get him all along
    – Clarky’s record at Kilmarnock

      (Quote)

  37. Carver has an Agent!!! That must be one of the hardest jobs in the world. “Yes, Randy Lerner, I wish you to consider my client for the open position at your club. He won 3 of 20 games ya knaa and only had an 8 game losing streak. But Troy Stavers says he kept NUFC up. My other client is Lee Clark, but he is currently employed but will be open to offers at the end of the season when he gets Kilmarnock relegated”.

  38. Nice to see Rafa telling the players how it is,your rep will go down you will find it hard to move elsewhere to a better club ect ect, good on you Rafa

      (Quote)

  39. Haha. Psychs, you hate the fact I’m always right and you are always wrong. 😀
Why don’t you ever aplogise and accept it. 😀

Spot on Ice, had to be done. I see every pundit you can think of is tipping us to lose today 🙁 If I was Rafa I would be ramming that down the players throats and telling them to prove them all wrong . We have beaten Norwich once and we can do it again.

      (Quote)

  41. Troy, what’s your prediction for today, baring in mind you’re always right like 😉 😀

      (Quote)

  42. Ime hating today already,God footy gets you in some states, bloody football players I could swing for them putting us through this agony with their **** attitude

      (Quote)

  43. Ice, very true, considering what they get paid and the opinion some of them have of themselves you would expect much better than we’ve witnessed so far. Well today they have a chance to show how good they are.

      (Quote)

  44. I will probably regret this, but here are my predictions:

    Norwich 1 NUFC 3

    Partick 2 Kilmarnock 1

    Barcelona 3 Real Madrid 1

      (Quote)

  45. I’m not looking forward to the match either. Sunderland was scary enough for me especially in the first half, I was fearing the worst. Now Norwich as well.

      (Quote)

  46. Defence needs to be extra solid today to do all they can to help darlow concede less than we score. The young lad must be feeling huge pressure, hope rafa does a good job of managing that and keeping it in check.
Today we find out if we even have a chance of staying up.

      (Quote)

  47. Full backs need to stay back today, can’t afford anyone out of position so I wouldn’t want them bombing forward at anytime.

      (Quote)

  48. Blimey! Mitro and Perez dropped for Cisse and Tiote with Gini pushed up behind Cisse.

      (Quote)

  49. Oh god Villa are so poor, they really are muck. If we don’t take 3 points from them albeit away from home then we deserve to drop. Got to say I never normally take pleasure in seeing any team relegated but I will gladly make an exception in their case. Karma is a ***** as the Villa fans are now finding out.

  50. Just looking at Norwich’s team and it just screams “Championship” to me. We must beat these!

Reckon it will be 1-1 though.

      (Quote)

  51. Stu, Well he’s the wonder coach we all wanted so he must have a plan, though I’m lost as to what it is.

      (Quote)

  52. Thought he would have found a spot for Jong, bit of a shock Taylor in,well just hope Rafa gets it right

      (Quote)

  53. I am a bit shocked by that line-up. If Carver had picked it I would have said he had gone totally bonkers. I believe Rafa knows what he is doing as he has the trophies to prove it and if this doesn’t work he will surely change it.

      (Quote)

  54. What a strange line up. Guess that’s the way he’s been working all week. Very strange.

      (Quote)

  55. Yes if McClaren had picked it we would all be saying “what the ****?!” But he has won everything and has seen them in training for the last two weeks so I guess it’s a case of in Rafa we trust…

      (Quote)

  56. But it certainly looks like Norwich are wanting a draw today. All their attacking players are on the bench. Risky strategy …

      (Quote)

  57. I hope I am horribly wrong but why Cisse. I wouldn’t let him start my car never mind start a match
