In today’s off-the-cuff story, we learn about how Ex-Newcastle striker Alan Shearer caused a bit of a stir this afternoon by seemingly threatening to send Ebola to a Sunderland fan on Twitter.
The former Magpies striker-turned-pundit was present on social media this afternoon, giving away signed England shirts in an online competition for a betting company.
After one Sunderland troll proclaimed he’d rather get Ebola in the post as opposed to a shirt signed by the former England football legend, Shearer replied by asking him for his address and saying that it ‘could be arranged.’
Whilst we’re sure Shearer’s response was meant in jest, the comment made by the aforementioned Sunderland fan over Twitter possibly should have just been ignored.
In the past, the outspoken pundit has certainly never been shy to converse with trolls over social media as this article depicting his conversation on Twitter with one fan earlier this year shows.
Send me your address and I’m sure I can arrange that. https://t.co/VMwpbDdBBm

“@Coral @alanshearer I’d rather get an envelope full of Ebola in the post than a shirt signed by him. Weetabix headed ****.”
