Newcastle United keen on signing West Ham United midfielder

Newcastle United eyeing a swoop for West Ham United youngster Reece Burke, according to reports from the Daily Mail.

Newcastle United have released their retained list recently and defender Steven Taylor is the high profile name among the seven players leaving the Magpies this summer.

Now with the contractual issues out of the way, Newcastle are looking to make new additions to their squad and a number of players have been linked with a move to St. James’ Park over the past few weeks.

In fresh rumors from the Daily Mail, claims are being made that Newcastle are currently considering a bid for West Ham United midfielder Reece Burke.

Burke is among the most highly rated young players currently present in the West Ham squad and he enjoyed a fine loan spell at League One outfit Bradford City last season.

While West Ham clearly rate Burke very highly, his future at the club is in doubt as he has not yet signed an extension to his current contract which expires in 2017.

As a result, a number of clubs are monitoring Burke’s situation at the Olympic Stadium and it has been claimed that Newcastle are among the clubs looking to take advantage.
