According to reports from the Chronicle, Isaac Hayden has successfully completed a medical and is now on the verge of signing for Newcastle United.
Many media outlets have claimed that Grant Hanley is the main central defensive transfer target for Newcastle United boss Rafael Benitez but given the fact that Blackburn Rovers are not the easiest team to negotiate a deal with; the Spaniard has prepared contingency plans in the form of Isaac Hayden.
Whether or not Newcastle are successful with their pursuit of Hanley remains to be seen but Newcastle are confident of signing Hayden and the Arsenal defender is now said to be on the verge of signing for the Magpies after successfully completing a medical, according to the Chronicle.
The reports claim that Hayden passed his medical without any issues and Newcastle are hopeful of sealing the deal for the 21-year-old ahead of their pre-season tour of Ireland.
Hayden is expected to sign for the Magpies on a season long loan deal and the Championship side will allegedly have the option of turning the move into a permanent one next summer.
