West Ham United make Newcastle United aware of their interest in star

Sissoko

West Ham United have informed Newcastle United that they are keen on securing the services of Moussa Sissoko, according to reports from Le10 Sport.

Moussa Sissoko has made it crystal clear for quite a while that he intends to leave Newcastle United this summer and given that the European Championships recently concluded, one can expect a bidding war to start for the French international in the coming days.

The likes of Arsenal, Liverpool and Manchester United among others have all been mentioned as interested parties in Sissoko and recently, even West Ham United have emerged as one of the candidates to sign the 26-year-old.

In a further development to West Ham’s pursuit for Sissoko, reports from Le10 Sport have gone on to claim that the Hammers have made Newcastle aware of their interest in the midfielder.

While talks are now set to begin soon between the two English sides, the report state that West Ham are clearly not willing to match Newcastle’s whopping £35 million asking price and will begin the negotiations at a relatively modest £16.7 million.
