Newcastle United to take surprise decision regarding £12 million-rated star

Thauvin

Newcastle United are considering keeping hold of Florian Thauvin, according to reports from the Chronicle.

Having flopped during his debut season in the Premier League last term, Florian Thauvin was widely expected to be leaving Newcastle United this summer and a move to either Lazio or Marseille had been seen on the cards for the French international.

However, Thauvin’s exit has not been facilitated as of yet due to the fact that Newcastle have placed a hefty £8.3 million price tag on the winger.

To add to the uncertainty surrounding Thauvin, manager Rafael Benitez had gone on to send mixed signals regarding the future of the 23-year-old after praising his abilities recently.

Now in a dramatic turn of events, the Chronicle have gone on to reveal that Newcastle could well consider keeping hold of Thauvin this summer.

The Frenchman is said to have impressed the Newcastle coaches during pre-season and revelations can be made that the Magpies could well consider keeping hold of the flop this term.
