Former Newcastle United defender Steven Taylor is on the verge of joining Portland Timbers, according to reports from MLSGB.

After spending over two decades at Newcastle United, Steven Taylor left St. James’ Park at the end of last season as his contract with the club was not renewed by manager Rafael Benitez.

Taylor is currently on the lookout for a new club and Scottish Premier League outfit Rangers had been linked with a move for the former England international a few weeks ago.
