Benitez speaks about potential starting lineup against Fulham

Rafael Benitez is close to finalizing his starting eleven for the clash against Fulham, as quoted by the Shields Gazette.

Newcastle United have gone through major changes in their squad this summer but despite the overhaul, the Magpies have been very impressive in pre-season.

Newcastle have managed comprehensive victories over Bohemians, Lokeren and Southend United, while they were able to earn a creditable 2-2 comeback draw against Doncaster Rovers as well.

Now Rafael Benitez’s men have only one pre-season game remaining, which will take place on Saturday against Vitesse, before the start of the Championship campaign.

The Tyneside based outfit will be squaring off against Fulham at Craven Cottage on the 5th of August in their Championship opener and fans are now certainly looking forward to see what sort of starting lineup Benitez will go with for the encounter.

When asked about the potential lineup on the night, Benitez revealed that he is still a bit undecided but dropped a huge hint that the lineup which started against Southend could do so at Craven Cottage as well.

He told the Shields Gazette, “We will see. We gave 60 minutes to the majority of the players and we will try to do similar things on Saturday.”
