Newcastle United interested in 21-year-old international playing in the Premier League

McNair

Newcastle United are keen on securing the services of Paddy McNair, according to reports from the Daily Express.

Following the departures of long serving duo Steven Taylor and Fabricio Coloccini, Newcastle United have gone on to strengthen their defence with the signings of Grant Hanley and Isaac Hayden this summer.

The arrival of Hanley and Hayden means that Newcastle’s backline looks very strong at the moment but manager Rafael Benitez is still in the hunt to further bolster his defence and now according to reports from the Daily Express, the Spaniard is keen on making a move for Manchester United’s Paddy McNair.

McNair broke into the United first team during the 2014/15 campaign but the defender struggled for regular minutes on the pitch last season, being handed only 8 appearances in total.

As a result, it is widely expected that McNair will be departing Manchester United this summer and Newcastle have been mentioned as a potential destination for the Northern Ireland international.
