Newcastle United winger Rolando Aarons has congratulated teammate Jamaal Lascelles after the defender was appointed the new Magpies’ captain.
Following the departure of the long serving Fabricio Coloccini, Newcastle United manager Rafael Benitez had to appoint a new captain this summer and ahead of the start of the upcoming Championship campaign, it has been announced that Jamaal Lascelles has been handed the responsibility.
Newcastle confirmed the appointment by posting the following video on social media website Twitter on Thursday.

Lascelles has taken up the Newcastle armband throughout pre-season and it has to be said that the young defender has managed to lead his side by example.
Many fans are delighted that the 22-year-old has been handed the captaincy and now even winger Rolando Aarons has gone on to express his happiness at the decision taken by the club.
Aarons took to Twitter to congratulate Lascelles on his new role and stated that the former Nottingham Forest star deserves the armband.
