Rafael Benitez is at it again as his Newcastle United are close to yet another signing. This time it is promising youngster Brendan Galloway from Everton according to reports.
Benitez is keen to strengthen his defence after the disappointing opening day defeat to Fulham and is hoping to take the defender initially on loan with a view to a permanent deal next season.
20-year-old Galloway made 19 starts for the Toffees last season and will represent a loss for the blues. But with Leighton Baines and Bryan Oviedo returning from injury, opportunities could be limited for Galloway as third choice left back.
A move to Newcastle could give him plenty of game time and experience with the large volume of games played in the Championship. Should he help secure promotion with the Magpies, it could potentially put him in the frame for an England call up after representing England at junior levels.
