Newcastle in talks to sign promising striker confirms Sporting Director

The Sporting Director of HB Køge has confirmed that he is currently in negotiations with Newcastle United over the transfer of youngster Elias Fritjof Sorensen.

Newcastle United have brought in a number of high profile players such as Dwight Gayle, Matt Ritchie, Grant Hanley and Ciaran Clark among others to St. James’ Park this summer and while Rafael Benitez has spent a lot of money to sign such established names, he is a manager who also puts a lot of emphasis on recruiting younger players.

Benitez has recruited two very talented youngsters in the form of Isaac Hayden and Stuart Findlay so far and it can now be revealed that the Spaniard is set to make a swoop for another promising player in the form of Elias Fritjof Sorensen.

Sorensen is an extremely highly rated striker who has managed to break into the HB Køge first team this season despite his tender years and the 16-year-old clearly seems to have caught the attention of Newcastle.

Køge Sporting Director Per Rud has now confirmed that he is currently in talks with Newcastle over the potential transfer of Sorensen and added that the move coming into fruition is a distinct possibility.

Rud told Bold.dk, “It is true that we are still talking to Newcastle, and we have had several great conversations with them, and it is likely to end up with a transfer.

“As with everything else in this world, I cannot say anything with certainty until it is fully in place, and the ends are not achieved together yet. But I’d be lying if I said that there isn’t some truth, for it is there.”
