Newcastle set to complete deal for 27-year-old with Premier League side

Newcastle United are on the verge of sanctioning the sale of Daryl Janmaat to Watford, according to reports from the Chronicle.

Following Newcastle United’s relegation into the Championship, there has been a lot of speculation surrounding the future of defender Daryl Janmaat this summer and a number of clubs are believed to be interested in securing the services of the Dutch international.

Recently, talks of Janmaat making a move to Watford had been gathering steam and now according to reports from the Chronicle, the Hornets are on the brink of completing a deal for the 27-year-old within the next few days.

Sky Sports also state that the transfer of Janmaat is close to being sealed as Newcastle have accepted a bid of around £7.5 million from Watford for the defender.

In order to replace Janmaat, Newcastle United have already made moves in the transfer market and are close to completing the signing of former Sunderland full-back DeAndre Yedlin for a fee believed to be in the region of around £5 million.
