Vice President talks about potential double deal with Newcastle United

The Vice-President of Lorient Alex Hayes has gone on to speak regarding their interest in Newcastle United duo Yoan Gouffran and Emmanuel Riviere.

Gouffran and Riviere have both endured difficult spells at Newcastle United since their move to St. James’ Park in 2013 and 2014 respectively, and it is widely expected that the duo will be leaving Tyneside this summer.

A move back to France has been seen on the cards for both players and it had been claimed recently by L’Equipe that Ligue 1 side Lorient were considering a swoop for the duo.

Now Lorient Vice-President Alex Hayes has gone on to speak regarding the speculation and has confirmed that his side are indeed interested in making a swoop for Gouffran and Riviere.

However, he added that the duo are on very high wages at Newcastle and a transfer coming into fruition is not certain as of yet.

Hayes was quoted saying by Le Telegramme (via Get Football News France), “These are not easy deals because they are players who are struggling in England. They have, as well, big salaries.”
