Newcastle in pole position to sign £4.75 million winger

Newcastle United are favourites to secure the services of West Bromwich Albion winger Callum McManaman, according to HITC.

West Bromwich Albion splashed around £4.75 million to secure the services of Callum McManaman from Wigan Athletic in January 2015 but things have not quite worked out for the winger at the Hawthorns.

McManaman has failed to impress manager Tony Pulis during his time at West Brom and as a result, the former England Under-20 international has been limited to only 15 appearances for the Baggies so far.

McManaman has not featured at all this season and it is widely believed that West Brom are currently looking to dispense with the services of the 25-year-old before the end of the summer transfer window.

A number of Championship clubs are interested in securing the services of McManaman and now according to reports from HITC, it has been claimed that Newcastle United are currently in pole position to secure the services of the winger.

Newcastle have been very active in the transfer market so far this summer, bringing in no less than 11 new players but manager Rafael Benitez is believed to be keen on further strengthening his squad in the coming days.
