Newcastle United are not interested in Lazio’s Ravel Morrison, according to The Shields Gazette.
Reports earlier in the day had suggested that Rafa Benitez had identified the former Manchester United and West Ham United player as the solution to his winger headache. Rolando Aarons injury suffered against Cheltenham Town in the EFL Cup has heightened the need to find another wide player.
Morrison, rated highly by Sir Alex Ferguson, had issues off the pitch at Old Trafford and moved to Upton Park to kickstart his career.
However, the move wasn’t successful as his personal problems impacted on his form and he move to Rome last summer.
There are suggestions that the pattern is being repeated in the Italian capital and that a move home is the solution.
Other reports have suggested that the Magpies are interested in Liverpool misfit Lazar Markovic but no bid has been forthcoming from St James Park. At this late stage, it seems unlikely that the Serb winger will be moving to Tyneside.
