Moussa Sissoko is edging closer to a move away from St James Park, if reports in the Daily Telegraph and Evening Standard are to be believed.
His agent was seen in the Directors Box at Crystal Palace on Saturday, watching the 1 – 1 draw with Bournemouth. There’s hope that Sissoko may, at long last, be slinging his hook.
It’s taking longer for him to say goodbye to Tyneside than it did for the Waltons to say “goodnight”.
Tottenham are the latest club to show an interest in him via the back pages and taking a leaf out of Juventus’ book, are unwilling to get anywhere close to the Newcastle valuation of £35m.
The French international will be offering up all manner of prayers to the footballing gods this evening as he pushes the transfer deadline to the limit in his desire to get away from the Championship.
Crystal Palace, themselves seemingly set for a relegation fight this season, should take note of Sissoko’s antics this summer as they face the same next year if he joins them…
