Southampton legend unsure of Tottenham’s huge investment

Sissoko

Matt Le Tissier has questioned as to whether Moussa Sissoko will be a good signing for Tottenham Hotspur.

Following much speculation, Newcastle United finally managed to offload Moussa Sissoko on transfer deadline day.

Premier League outfit Tottenham Hotspur splashed a whopping £30 million to secure the services of Sissoko and Newcastle would most certainly have been left happy with the fee received from the transfer.

There is no doubting the fact that Sissoko is a good player but Tottenham have taken a huge risk by splashing so much on the Frenchman and not everyone is convinced that the transfer will prove to be a success.

Former Southampton star Matt Le Tissier has now expressed his concern regarding the move and has stated that Sissoko will need to reproduce his performances for France rather than Newcastle United in order to justify his huge price tag at White Hart Lane.

Le Tissier told Sky Sports: “They’ll be hoping they get the Sissoko from the European Championships, not the Sissoko of Newcaste last season, they were two completely different players. Hopefully he’ll be good but on the form of last season that seems a lot of money to me.”
