Speaking to the Chronicle, Newcastle United full-back DeAndre Yedlin has gone on to explain that he has a connection with teammate Matt Ritchie.
Despite his prior connections with Sunderland, DeAndre Yedlin was signed by Newcastle United from Tottenham Hotspur for around £5 million this summer and the defender has already proven to be a huge hit at St. James’ Park so far.
Yedlin has more than managed to successfully fill the boots of the departed Daryl Janmaat till now and the 23-year-old look set to play a major role in Newcastle’s hopes of earning automatic promotion back into the Premier League this season.
While Yedlin has put in a number of fantastic displays, it has to be said that his integration into the team has been hugely helped by the presence of Matt Ritchie and the defender has now gone on to acknowledge this fact by stating that he shares a ‘connection’ with the flamboyant Scottish international.
The American international told the Chronicle, “He’s a great player to play with. He’s always going to give 100 per cent. Even if you make a mistake, he’s right there behind you, which is huge. As long as you’ve got their back, and they’ve got yours – I think it’s a hard connection to stop.”
