Newcastle’s Key Man Ahead of Cardiff Clash

After a great start to the season and much rotation to the first eleven, just who is the player most unlikely to be dropped this weekend?

With statistics taken from popular site whoscored.com, it seems that it is summer recruit Ciaran Clark.

Clark has been very impressive since his arrival from Aston Villa and in recent weeks, has even kept fans favourite Chancel Mbemba, out of the starting line-up.

Clark has shown himself to be a very well rounded player since joining, boasting stats that are impressive both from a defensive and from a technical point of view.

During his ten appearances, Clark has played the full 900 minutes, scored two goals and assisted once. To compliment this, he averages 0.6 shots per game (SpG) and has a pass completion rate of 78.1%, winning an average of 3.5 aerial duels per game.

Not bad for a man that many thought would only be a squad player this season.
