NUFC Star Could Learn From Gouffran

Yoan Gouffran has forced his way back into Rafa Benitez’s plans after great work in training, backed up with a string of goals when on the pitch.

Gouffran has found himself being praised for his work-rate, professionalism and consistency this season, after chipping in with some great goals this season, to compliment his great performances.

Gouffran was not a regular starter last season, even under Rafa Benitez. One player that was, was Ivorian enforcer Cheick Tiote. Tiote’s power and strength made him a fan favourite back in the day, however, since then relationships have soured and Tiote is now surplus to requirements.

There can be no doubt that Tiote is more than good enough to play week in week out for Newcastle but it appears that he is unwilling to do what is asked of him, to do so.

Tiote has played only once this season and it looks unlikely that he will play again. If this is the case, then let us remember Tiote for what he was, not what he is now.
