Youngster Enjoying Loan Deal

In an interview with Nufc.co.uk, Newcastle youngster Jamie Sterry said that he is enjoying his loan deal at Coventry.

Sterry, who has impressed throughout his loan even scoring at the weekend said, “Being out on loan, I’ve learned so much,” said. “It’s more about yourself, really; every day you’ve got to work hard to try and get in the team, and you know that it means so much to everyone.

“I’ve played a lot of games since I’ve been here, and I think I’ve been doing well. The first few games were a bit different, but now I think I’ve adapted to it and started being myself and playing my own game now, so that’s helped a lot.”

He also added, “”The Fleetwood game was my first game, and I played wing-back. I think I’d only trained one day, but I started the game.

“I hadn’t played 90 minutes in I don’t know how long – maybe seven months or something like that – and after that, I feel like it hasn’t taken long to get to where I need to be”

Sterry will not be alone in benefitting from this loan, Newcastle will also reap the benefits, should he continue to play regularly and come back a better player and hopefully he will provide further competition for DeAndre Yedlin and possibly Vurnon Anita, next season.
