The January transfer window is fast approaching and like all clubs, Newcastle may look to spend money and boost their chances of promotion. Here’s five players that we think Rafa should sign:
1. Junior Stanislas
Stanislas may be a Premier League player, but Newcastle have raided Bournemouth before and if they were to do the same again, Stanislas would be a brilliant signing.
Newcastle are struggling for depth on both wings, something that Stanislas would offer. The English winger can score and make goals, with three goals and three assists to his name in nine appearances this season.
Stanislas, while capable of operating on both wings, is better on the right and has proven that he can perform regularly in the Premier League.
He would be the perfect addition to any squad that is looking to gain promotion and consolidate in the Premier League and at 27 he should still have international ambitions.
Stanislas has the potential to get better and is only 27 years old, he also currently has the ability to be considered one of, if not the best player in the current Newcastle squad.

Jake – I think it’s about that time to start thinking of Jan recruits.
That said mate, I’m not sure of any of those – don’t see Stanislas leaving Bmouth or being allowed to – he’s a regular starter.
I would take Benik Afobe from Bmouth if they let him go. I think he’d be a decent replacement if Mitrovic left.

It would certainly take a big bid for Stanislas but we were willing to do so for Ritchie, who was also a regular starter!

Jake – I’ll be honest mate, I’m not sure I rate him that highly. We spent £10m on Ritchie and it would take around that to tempt Bmouth to part with Stanislas. But I reckon there would be better options for that – or less.

Thanks Jake, yeah I’m not sold on Snodgrass either mate and age is against him now. Cairney could be a good shout though, as you say you can’t sniff at a 90% pass rate. I know nowt about Mohwald but I’m sure Munich will be able to tell us all about him. Obiange at west ham, well the Spanish connection could help I suppose if Rafa was interested. Much depends on if we offload Tiote in January, though there is no doubt we need cover with the ACON approaching.
Great to see both bans lifted too, bloody useless ref, mugged us off for 3 points there, lets hope come may they don’t prove pivitol eh.
