As reported by the Chronicle, Paul Dummett has spoken about his love for Newcastle supporters and how important he feels that they are.
Ahead of today’s game against Birmingham City, Dummett, who appears to split the Newcastle fanbase said: “The fans are what this city is about. They live and breathe football.
“Whether it’s the league, cup or anything they want us to do well.
“They will be looking forward to it and they want to us go to Wembley and you never know that might happen.”
Dummett then spoke about the defeat to Blackburn in Newcastle’s last game, adding: “It was so disappointing after the game because we’d played so well. To come away with the result and scoring when we did was disappointing.
“It would have given us something to look forward to and something for the fans to look forward to in a cup competition which hasn’t happened for a while.”
